Inquisitor_Lensoven
I put this here because it’s marine equivalent, not just about marines specifically. Anyway we have MEQ and TEQ, but since primaris were created a new class of marines that doesn’t fit into either category cleanly has been introduced. may introduce GrEQ, or gravis equivalent. im sure other factions have units with similar statlines to justify the more umbrella term than just referring to gravis directly. Dr. Clock
These days MEQ to me is '3+ 2W' and TEQ is '2+ 3W' as a start. To me Gravis are still TEQ because the T6 with same wounds means they are still distinctly more chonky than marines, and you probably don't need a whole different dataset or weapon loadout to deal with it as a distinctive 'standard profile'. I wouldn't tend to fold Bladeguard or other T4 3W stuff in with Gravis because T6 is a pretty sizeable leap from MEQ world. So there are certainly edge cases where you might want to look at performance into Gravis and terminators separately, but if it will kill terminators it will kill Gravis just as well most of the time... and that's how I use shorthands like this: to compare how offensive profiles do into the different common/typical defensive profiles. It may be that Gravis are actually more common that terminators now, but these are legacy terms at this point and thus may prove pretty intractable. The holy trinity of GEQ/MEQ/TEQ shall prevail for all time, surely? Cheers, The Good Doctor. The Praetorian of Inwit
What on Terra even are these terms? The only terms you need are Imperial Fists = Good, Everything Else = Bad Heraclite and Dr_Ruminahui 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385112-is-the-term-meq-outdated/#findComment-6088851 Share on other sites

The 4++ is a major part of what makes terminators, terminators. i think a T5 2+ 4++ is different enough from T6 3+ to make a noticeable difference, especially that T5/6 comparison. Weapons that can reliably wound terminators are much less likely to wound gravis.
