Yeah scorpions in my country are about 100 bucks. Banshees for 5 are 75... while the 100 seems steep and it is, you get 10 vs 5.

All the prices above are comparable. Wish I could use the Fire dragons and so on in kill team, but no such luck yet. Only scorpions and banshee's. And the old defenders while need a refresh... but another time.

It is crazy. It should be for 10

Yeah I mean look at the striking scorpions. Even more expensive at £47.50 but better price per model.

I think if built a box it would be like:

One of each aspect squad

1 x reboxed Falcon/Wave Serpent

Asurmen

plus the codex.

That brings the value to £213, so more in line with other battleforces and removes the decision about which shrine to favour, because Asurmen doesn’t match any of the other new releases.

Then the other phoenix lords could just be bought separately and people are more likely to buy them if they have the squads for them to lead.

If they got a Christmas box, I'd expect it to look a little like that, except the Avatar would be a focal point with a core of each aspect.

Aspect Warriors - £40

Expand

Ouch, £40 for 5 models?  Maybe I won't be rushing to replace my old Aspect Warriors after all. How do they justify that when you can get 10 Intercessors for the same price and they are substantially chunkier models.

Pricing is as expected. £40 for 5 flimsy infantry models is gross but at least it's the same gross as Banshees/Reapers/Incubi and not a quid or two more, like they often do in the early part of the year.

the annoying this is is that it doesn't seem to be on model size, or number of sprues, or even points. Just these guys look a bit elite so you only get 5.

Even if it was only DA/HB/SS that were in 10s, and the others in 5s but cheaper it wouldn't be so bad.

Still hoping for a Dire Avengers Kill Team, but who knows.

Not a big deal but WarCom just dropped a sorta lore article about the Warp Spider Phoenix Lord, including saying what aspect she's supposed to represent. It also reprints the snippet from the Psychic Awakening that first mentions her.

Article also reveals that it seems like she’ll give Warp Spiders some sort of [blank] (advance? Can’t remember how their big teleport move works.) and charge. Which is great for a unit that has, uh, torrent weapons.

Yes I know - but the SS were still released under the KT banner, along with tokens - just kinda hoping they might do the same with DA, it's the only remaining reason they might have held back on new models.

Thankfully there's inde stores with discount but it's still very steep regardless.

Steep? That's practically vertical!

I have to admit this has slightly dampened my enthusiasm for the releases. I will be getting the new Warp Spider PL for definite but at these prices, I will not be in such a hurry to replace to my metal aspect warriors.

I've been waiting a long, long time for this update to the Swooping Hawks.

Finally, models for my favourite Aspect Warriors that don't look like they're trying to be fully 2D.

They really look - dare I even say it - as good as the Scourges for the Dark Eldar, which up until now has been my all-time favourite kit to paint and assemble. I'm genuinely excited to get my hands on them!

I like some of the other Aspect Warriors too (I didn't expect the Fire Dragons to come out looking this good) but the Swooping Hawks are the definite winners for me.

The price has put a very big dent in my enthusiasm … In Australian dollars this will be …. Difficult to justify
I think I’ll just wander back over to the “The old world”  corner  and continue playing with my toys there…

20-25% off at The Combat Company, which can help.

On a side note the the title of the article about aeldari pre-order is strangely very christmas oriented...

I wonder if in the beginning this release was schedule to be for late 2024 rather than now.

I don’t wanna sound victim-blamey and I know people don’t always pay attention to things in the same way and stuff but we’ve got 2 plastic Phoenix Lords and 2 plastic 5-man Aspect Warrior boxes already, are the prices really a surprise to people? These weren’t gonna be any cheaper than those.

The lack of an army box with discounts on the new units also hurts here as I was planning to get the lot + ltd ed codex and cards in one bundle but that is not happening.

Maybe the new Combat Patrol will offer some decent savings.

I mean there's the answer why there likely isn't an army box. They perhaps felt that it wouldn't give the desired return.

That and maybe even GW realised that having two army boxes for the same system on the trot practically wasn't going to go down well. I think army boxes are more spaced out on purpose so as the next one will be EC.

Again, they did battleforces at least for simultaneous army drops in this edition, the only consistency is that there isn't any
