I went to the largest LGS in my area and they carry the largest selection of paints ... GW, Vallejo, AP, Reaper, etc ... no matches. I ended up walking out with Daemonic Yellow P Fanatic, and Vallejo Model Color Flat Yellow ... no dice for either, and no dice for the four GW yellows I own.

However where there is a will there is a way!!!

So I used my new AP Daemonic Yellow to patch spots ... let it dry. THEN applied some AP SP Maize Yellow over it.

SOLUTION ACHIEVED!!!!!

It's not as easy as an acrylic color that is a good match. But it's just a tad more work, and hey I'm not doing an Imperial Fists army here! Just a few Imperial Fists to mix in with some of my Black Templar units, and MAYBE when I add aggressors to my Black Templars I'll do the whole unit as Imperial Fists? So hey, I'm happy with my solution to my problem.

My brush on Winsor & Newton Galeria Matte varnish did make the speed paint run a small bit. A very small bit but enough that it's noticeable, and I am using Speedpaint 2.0 btw. Just a head's up. I was reading online that the consensus is any brush-on varnish will trigger the reactivation of speed paint, whether its 1.0 or 2.0, to some degree ... worse with 1.0 versus 2.0 but still you'll get the result I just got last night. Maybe this is old news on here?
