Tawnis
So, I'm thinking of running the new Final Day detachment for a local league coming up in a couple weeks and wanted to know if anyone's had a chance to really try it out yet? For the GSC side of things, I'm thinking of running a big Abberant blob and a big Purstrain Blob with a unit of Demo Charge Acolytes, two units of Neophytes and a unit of Jackels for objectives and snacks. Also a Reductus and Kellermorph for general shenanigans and actions. On the Tyranid side I was think of Deathleaper and a Lictor with two unit of Leapers and a Prime with Melee Warrior blob, as well as a Flyrant and Trygon for some heavier punching power. The idea is for the GSC units to soak the first bit of damage and/or be used as snacks to keep the Tyranids up, then come back and support the Tyranids when they crash into the enemy lines. I don't see the list doing too much on turn one, but once stuff connects, having units like the Abberants, Leapers and Trygons hitting on 2's seems really good. Also the aberrants seem really scary, getting sustained from the enhancement and full re-rolls to wound from the strat. There's not too much shooting in the list, just enough to clear screens, so I don't think that will be too much of an issue. We've got a fall back and charge stat for them too so the ones without fight first don't get locked down. What are your thoughts and/or how are you thinking of running this detachment? Ulfast
I´m not myself playing it as I don´t want to invest in any tyranids model at the moment. But I do think that it could work and be fun. Try it out! INKS
from my understanding. you often just want lictors over the deathleaper. it's cool and all but it's hardly worth the boost in points. everything else sounds pretty good actually Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385133-the-final-day/#findComment-6091185 Share on other sites

I'll probably sub it out for a Neurolictor. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385133-the-final-day/#findComment-6091412 Share on other sites
