Captain Idaho Posted November 30 Author Share Posted November 30 (edited) So I've built Martial Vivorus, an iconic depiction in the graphic novel. He presented unusual challenges... he's clearly firing a pistol here, from the K-tum K-tum; a bolt pistol. So I can happily presume he's in close quarters after the story led us there so likely he's using a melee weapon, right? Well he's also depicted as this: So several times he's firing a bolter too. Here in is my Ultramarines brain over thinking it. Why fire a pistol if you've got a bolter right? They can be fired 1 handed plenty too, right? Logic dictated to me that the bolter is out of use at this point. Fine, makes sense. But the clearest representation for me ended up working on bolters being added to him on a strap or giant holster. Hours of work on bolters since they all come with hands attached, adjustments to make slightly smaller etc... ...but still looked too busy and clumsy due to size. Therefore I've dropped the idea unfortunately. No bolter for me. Which sucks as was planning on him leading a Seeker squad. Anyway here he is: Happy with the work now. He needs a clean up as is covered in dust from super glue and green stuff. Excuse the green stuff under my finger nail, the super glue was still fresh on me at that point so couldn't get it off yet! The archotech pistol might be a tough one to represent mind. Any suggestions specifically? Also, for Martial Vivorus, I can stick the bolter on his left underneath and behind the pistol arm and pouches respectively. Tempted to just stick it there, but then it could do with perhaps a sling cable to connect to this "belt" just so it looks more realistic. Haven't decided there yet, what are people's thoughts?
