Had some scythes of the emperor, i miss those guys.

Well. Very, very interesting. I spotted Blood Angels, Mentor Legion, Scythes of the Emperor, Deathwatch and at least two I couldn't place - the left and right helmets in the "group" shot.

 

Then there's an Inquisition marked Terminator Helmet - Indomitus Pattern, so Deathwatch most likely (and fits the "Suffer not the Alien..." tag.)

 

Most interestingly... they're all Mk VII, which suggests pre-Indomitus Era.

Animation is weirdly both expensive and time consuming. Arcane took over a decade and $250m - now, we're not going to get that at all, but even a short series like Pariah Nexus - which is about 65ish mins in total, probably took a couple of years from concept to delivery.

Syama also stated way, way back when he announced Astartes II that it was at least half-a-decade away - and that was before he'd started putting together a support team or signed on with Games Workshop as a contractor / advisor. 2026 seems reasonable, all said and done.

 

Looking forward to this, however.

Gosh, this certainly gets the creative juices flowing again. The sound design complements the visuals so much.

 

Can't place the rightmost chapter even when watching through the trailer in slow-motion (funnily enough Astartes is good and well put together even at 0,25 speed since there are so many details that just flicker past at regular speed).

In the article it says this isn't actually from the show, but who is in the show so more than likely all these fellows are in a Kill Team and it's actually about the Deathwatch, which is both awesome and kind of a bummer because I'd watch an anthology show about all of these different conflicts, the Predators firing on the bridge against the Tau was a great shot

Glad to see this (even if i'll probably never get around watching the end result) 

 

Can't avoid thinking that this is what they should have done with WH tv from the start to push/capitalize on the interest, instead of coming to it years later

Do you think it's one story or a series of short stories? Seems like they are fighting Orcs, Nids, Tau - stealth suit was awesome as well as seeing a dead one. And then several different kinds of space marines.

 

It gave me a feeling like none of it was really connected, that they were showing bits of different stories.

I'm pretty sure the one you have as a Chaplain is the Mortifactors chapter

Yeah, Mortifactors is also a good shout, but I couldn't remember if they always do skull faced helmets or not

 Those clips are showing the ‘former lives’ of the characters before they were assigned to the Deathwatch. 
 

It’s safe to say the animation will be focussed on a Deathwatch Team, on a mission.

Indomitus pattern helmet, so it’s Deathwatch. 
 

Also those clips show the ‘former lives’ of the characters.. presumably before they were assigned to the Deathwatch too. 
 

So what we’re seeing is a character intro for the marines in a Deathwatch squad. I assume the animation will be focussed on a Deathwatch team on a mission.

Ah ok, I did not put this together. So it's about the deathwatch and these are short clips of who they were before they became the deathwatch. I know it's a blurb below, which clearly I didn't bother to read, I just wanted to watch the video, but I would have been shocked in a years time when none of that footage was used. lol
