Just discovered that WARMAG are having a sale until the end of January with code: JANUARY-STINKS!

I was ready to do it but, my total was 25quid, and the wanted 55 more in postage, my $50AU dollar was now prohibitve at +$150.

BUT, if you're in the UK, shipping is only a fiver, and the products are really handy, basically you get a box, a sticky mangetic sheet to stick to the bottom of the box, and they now have fitted magnetic stickers that slot into GW's most common bases sizes, no glue needed, peel and stick.

I'm going to find an Aussie distributor.

Great find - thank you!

Very tempting. Storage for completed minis is the one thing I really do need to invest in a bit more. I need to do a bit of research to see how this compares to my DIY versions for cost. I expect it may not be much different all said and done

It was 25GBP for a 4L box, sticky sheet, and 50x 32mm, and 40x 40mm base stickers.

They also have a 9L two shelf box, but I don't recall it's cost.

(Note the stickers are smaller, 28.5mm for 32mm bases so the sit inside the base rims).

Thanks, I like the printed magnetic sheets and the precut magnets are a cool idea, but the premium you pay for one box is a bit steep.

You can DIY for a fraction of the cost. You can get FOUR 9l Really Useful Boxes for under £30, a pack of magnetic sheeting for under £15 and magnetic for a couple of quid. That’s probably four useable boxes for under £50.

There’s some really nice custom storage solutions out there, with the price point to match, but when it comes to using Really Useful Boxes and following Duncan Rhodes’ YouTube video, these seem overpriced.

If you're going to DIY it (which is definitely cheaper) watch out for the thickness of the magnetic sheet you buy (I can't find a better way to gauge how good it is but there no doubt is one).

Cheap magnetic sheets are fine for fridges, but awful for holding magnetised minis, so if you get thin, budget sheets then your minis will be sliding everywhere.

In my experience, vinyl sheet magnets aren't powerful enough to guarantee the safety of fragile models.

I'd just buy a bunch of rare earth magnets- which are super strong and will hold your models secure upside down even if you shake the heck out of the container.

And then the day after valentines day when chocolate is cheap, buy as many tins of Quality Street chocolate is you can get for this price; they're magnetic on their own.

I think you'll end up with more storage space for your dollar, the magnetic connection will be more secure, and you'll get 2-3 tins of chocolate as a bonus.

But then I'm poor, and consequently cheap :cuss:.

Worth noting that you can just pick up really useful boxes and the box sheets. It's super convenient

Indeed, I'm amazed at how expensive Warmag items are for a R.U.B and a magnet sheet.

Yeah agree, Really Useful Boxes can be bought from basically any office supplies retailer (and plenty of other places, they sell them in my local B&M) for a significantly cheaper price, and then you can get a pack of A4 self adhesive ferrous sheets from Amazon at about £16 for 10 sheets, and then packs of neodymium magnets for £6-£12 per hundred depending on what size you want. The outlay to do one box is probably the same, but as soon as you want two or more boxes, DIY becomes significantly cheaper because you've already got 10 magnetic sheets and a hundred magnets. Basically with Warmag you are paying a premium for convenience.

I did however pick up a pack of Warmag's pre-cut self-adhesive magnets recently, specifically to use with minis on sculpted bases (like Underworlds warbands) where the underside isn't flat so attaching rare earth magnets isn't as easy (i've had mixed results using greenstuff to hold them) and I have to admit they are very solid. Easily strong enough to pass @ThePenitentOne's shake test! And they are also a bit easier to apply retrospectively to already built/based minis than regular magnets are.
