Galron
I wanted to build an armor oriented force using some models I either have or want to work on in the near future and I always work better when I have a goal in mind. Some of these units are dual use in my drop pod list. Some are obviously not going to work both ways. I didnt want to go full blown Armor RoW as I did want to use terminators and having a dinky predator or Sicarian as a warlord just seems kind of weak when he would be that easy to one shot. That and I wanted some ground pounders and I didnt feel like buying transportation for them. I didnt go with the cliche Terror Assault as I wanted my Heavy Support options open to me. I will build an Armored Spear Head list and add it to this thread, it will just look different and I currently lack predators because my Red Scorpions stole them to fight the Nids menace 10k years from now. They build them to last in that day and age I guess. The main purpose is to be a fun list to play and play against without being too oppressive showing a wide range of units. Perhaps as a large introductory game. 3k General Fun Night Lords Armored List No RoW Praetor Tartaros Armor- Paragon blade- Stoic Defender WLT -Tartaros Retinue- Standard Bearer-4 thunder hammers, one twin lightning claw (These guys ride in the Spartan) Contemptor- melta cannon, fist with melta, havoc launcher- Preysight(he is armed how it is armed for my drop list) Apothecary- sits with HSS 10 Man assault squad -sgt with art armor, fist, + one axe 10 man recon squad- Vexilla- bolters -Their job is to jump an objective and push back enemy infiltrators. No one expects a pile of bolter dudes in their face turn 1. Tac Squad in a rhino- Vexilla- art armor Tac Support Squad in a rhino- Plasma- vexilla, art armor prey sight 10 man Seeker Squad-Prey sight, vexilla, art armor Land raider with TL heavy flamer, pintle heavy flamer(points thing) 10 Heavy Support squad Autocannons, art armor, augury scanner, preysight, vexilla Kratos- Choomwagon- preysight, Volkite-Cardinelle, culverins, calivers, Flare shield, Decurion Locus Land Raider Spartan- Hull mounted Twin Lascannon, pintle multi-melta, preysight, flare shield It looks like a fun list to me without being too specialized. One main melee unit, two close range shooting units, a couple line units and a lot of long range fire power. Push for a first turn night fight to take advantage of an initial alpha strike to maybe take out some heavy hitters. Be back later with a dedicated Armored spearhead.
