1x Dreadclaw Drop Pod [Legends] (115 pts)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Alternatively i could drop the Drop Pod and the lord for a daemon prince.

I'll go fishing for the CC traits with Bile with thise rerolls. Toughness and additional attacks beeing the main priority.

Bile joins with the chosen and goes in the droppod.

Chaos lord joins the legionaries. Sorcerer goes with the terminators. These either deepstrike or footslogging over the field. Not sure yet.

Noise marines and havocs help guarding the rear and annoy some vehicles.

If i swap out for a daemon Prince the infantry would benefit from the cover aura. Instead of the droppod.

Looks like a nice list.  I myself would miss not having a couple units of cultists (I love sticky objectives), but with 2 fire support type units, they may be less necessary and I'm not sure where I would shake loose the 100 points for them.  Likewise, a ride for your legionaires would be nice, especially for that lonely first turn when your heavy hitters are off the table... but again, I'm not sure what the trade off would be to allow that.

I also have to take my collection into account. I dont have my rhinos painted up yet, which is why i went for the Droppod. But you are absolutely right regarding the cultists. I was considering that as well. I could drop the noise marines dor some cultists and make the chaos lord a "prime subject". I learned that the noise marines can put an surprising amount of hurt if directed to the right target though. (Exited for what the updated rules might have in store for us)

Yeah, obviously model availability places constraints on your list that are perfectly valid but that I would be unaware of.

You make a good point about the demon prince protective aura, which was something I hadn't given much thought to, being more familiar with the winged version.  That said, I'm not sure that is worth giving up the mobility from the drop pod for.  A cheap version for similar production might be swapping the lord for a sorcerer - personally, I prefer a (regular) sorcerer over a lord for my legionaires, as I think they are killy enough without the lord and need the durability more (and I don't tend to make good use of the Lord's abilities, but that's on me) but I recognize that I seem to be in the minority on that.  That may depend on your opponent, though - my own preference is definitely shaped by having a very shooty necron opponent who I have trouble surviving to get into melee with.

Actually tomorrow's opponent is fielding a lot of necron warrior and immortal blobs. I'll tell you how that goes. :D

I was thinking about the sorcerer as well (well I have one with my terminators) My reasoning of going for the lord was the ability to use free strats. Especially the one that revives multiple battleline models could go well with the legionaries. And then using that strat twice a roind sounds great for recuperating some losses and also getting closer to my opponent via settimg up revived models closer if that makes sense. I guess charging with the droppod first to soak up some overwatch makes sense. Maybe I can rapid ingress the terminators somewhere safely if I should go second.

I am a little scared about failing that 9 inch charge for the occupants of the dread claw evem with a reroll.

So maybe staying in the droppod for a round might make sense? But then dalayed pressure on the opponent might cost me dearly as well.

Had my game today. It was lots of fun. In the end I won. I had a rough start.

The takeaways are:

- Legioaries are good value, especially with a lord for the free strats. They wiped a blob of 20 warriors comnined with shooting and melee.

- Bile supporting the Cosen is a monster of a unit. I was lucky and made my key charge in turn one harrasing some Canoptec Wraiths, which almost completely regenerated in the next turn lol.

- In the end my terminators came down (out of line of sight first) and swept through the tides of necrons in melee deciding the game.

Pointswhise it was quite close until end of turn 3 when my buddy conceeded.

For bonuses I had +1 to hit in meele and also ranged attacks, which i was initially not so happy about. Turns out terminators and chosen hitting on 2+ cam get some shooting done as well.

This looks like the sort of list id try for a creations of bile list. Few small nitpicky bits to do as you want with...

Chaos termy sorceror... dont forget the familiar option! Can potentially save the model!

Legionares... give them a heavy weapon... its free. If you get good rolls on your bile table it can be the first death but having the ability to stick a lascannon in there for a freem to a tank... i understand not taking the book but a heavy can lay out hurt

To be honest i absolutely overlooked the failiar. I ended up giving the legionaries a reaper chain cannon and a plasma gun. Plasma gun ended up bloeung up and the chain cannon did not do much. Lol

Anyways... here are some pictures for those who are interested.
