Just a quick question - can any non-legion-specific heresy terminator squads take thunder hammer and storm shield? I’d like to build some and double them up for 40K but I can’t see an option for this in the army lists. Is this not an option or am I being blind somehow? There’s a nice shiny 3D printed kit online that is made for cataphractii but it’ll be annoying if I buy them and they’re not an option.

Where are they in the list? I only see Cataphractii and Tartaros…

They're part of the Legacies pdf: horusheresy_legaciesoftheageofdarkness_legionesastartes_eng_24.09.23.pdf

Ah OK so I’m not crazy then, they just aren’t in the actual army list…

Thanks :)

Are the units in that pdf officially legal? I mean are they tournament-legal or is it like legends in 40K? Not that I’m planning on going to a tournament but it’s just nice to know what’s officially “allowed” and what isn’t.

If that’s the case then I could just model up the Cataphractii with hammers and shields and then run them as indomitus (I have a spare 5 Cataphractii not yet built, you see).

Yeah @TheArtilleryman they are perfectly legal in basically every situation, according to the rule in book and pdf that defines 'core' (printed in a book) and 'expanded' (pdfs and such). The Heresy Team have handled Legacies so much better than 40k.

Thats so good to hear! Maybe I will go ahead and buy those third party bits to convert them then. Thanks!

Been mulling over the correct place for this thread... if we talk about army building then here in the army list forum is cool. If not I'll ship it to the general HH section. (so just round the corner then!)

It's cool to take Indomitus Terminators for all Terminator armies that AREN'T Pride of the Legion.

And hearing positive reports of their performance is just icing on the cake.

Ah sorry, always unsure the exact place for stuff… figured it was about options for inclusion in an army list… :)

For the army, I’ve already got a “regular” Cataphractii squad of 5 with power fist. What I wanted to do was build the remaining 5 to make a squad of 10, them drop them in my Spartan with the praetor. Looks like I can’t do that though if I build them with THSS as I’ll have to list them as a different unit. Otherwise just build them with claws, which is thematic for RG but not as effective.

It is daft that you can’t put more than one unit in a transport when it costs that many points and has that much capacity. I can’t even think of how I’d ever get to the full 26 in one unit …

Not an issue, just didn't want you to be surprised or worried if I moved it.

Normal Terminator Squads of the Imperial Fists and Salamanders can have a Stormshield and Thunderhammer, but you are limited to those 2 Legions in Heresy
