Farva Ramathorn
I bought this back in 1990..(maybe 91).... I was 15. Got back into the hobby a short while ago, and i finally put paint to metal. Never too old. First attempt at flames. Learnt a lot. Limited number of paints so might have a second attempt with new model when I've up-skilled a little and have more paint variety . Only have citadel paints. I used: Contrast yellow White scar mephiston red sunset yellow Contrast black leadbelcher and a silver. I might have used nuln oil. Brushes were the starter, base and a layer citadel one, And some dirt cheap amazon ones. So don't zoom in too much. Evil Eye
That's a lovely paintjob on a wonderful sculpt! Needs basing, still, but regardless it's an excellent job- well done! Firedrake Cordova
The Swooping Hawks were always my favourite of the Eldar Aspect shrines. It's an interesting paint scheme you've chosen (one I'm not familiar with, but I only have the most superficial knowledge of the Eldar lore) - it suits the model well, and came out nicely. Nostalgic hobbyist in the voice of Gimli (or Gotrek): but they're not turquoise. They're not a Swooping Hawk if they're not turquoise. Farva Ramathorn
15 yr old me painted these. Plan is the repair them and remount them. NOT repaint. I think I had one brush and enamel paints. Bases is WIP. Messing around with polyfilla and bottle cork. I also have a Space Hulk project (1st ed) and i signed up for Combat Patrol magazine, so those models are on the production line. More posts to follow. Farva Ramathorn
These were done several years before the Swooping Hawks. Probably Late 80's. Not sure what I'm going to do with these. Theyre perfect :D ZeroWolf, Grotsmasha, Dr_Ruminahui and 4 others 6 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385249-eldar-exarch-35-years-on-never-too-old/#findComment-6092958 Share on other sites

Firedrake Cordova
Quite a lot of nostalgia here - I remember when most of these models were "current". I still have this model in my drawer. It waits for a more modern paintjob.
