firestorm40k
Something for UK Fraters - Warhammer now available from Hobbycraft: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/brand/warhammer/ They've got a pretty big range of current sets, but all at full RRP by the looks of things. However, if you're signed up/registered with them, they frequently send vouchers for £5 or £10 off, so probably worth using those to get some savings Edited February 6 by firestorm40k Autocorrect typo N1SB, Domhnall, Phadeout and 10 others 6 7 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385251-hobbycraft-now-selling-warhammer/ Share on other sites

skylerboodie
Also looks like you get a 15% off code for first order when sign up to newsletters (1 month expiry) and - if planning to buy a lot from them - can sign up to their Plus service for £80pa to get 15% off year round. Would need to spend £535pa to pay off the fee before actually start gaining from the discount, and a lot of other FLGS offer better discounts (without a fee), but just FYI in case suits for some people. Edit: also get 5% credit as a newsletter member with no subscription required - "When you join the Hobbycraft Club we’ll keep track of every penny you spend and issue 5% back in Club Loyalty Vouchers in increments of £2.50." Northern Walker
Had a nosey in at my local one at lunch, selection isn't brilliant honestly - which is probably reflective of many of their shops. Still, somewhere else to grab the basics that's open 7 days in most places is still a pretty positive thing, especially for folk who're busy with work and kids. Lord Marshal
They've semi-regularly done "spend £15 and get £5 off" offers recently as well, so those might be worth keeping an eye out for in the future. firestorm40k, ZeroWolf and skylerboodie 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385251-hobbycraft-now-selling-warhammer/#findComment-6093080 Share on other sites

MechaMan
As others have said, they seem to be selling products at recommend retail price? So more expensive than the ~15% discount of other flgs. Why is this such good news? What am I missing? For people who have a Hobbycraft loyalty card, they frequently do offers like 'Spend £20 and get £5 off', or 'it's your birthday have £10 off', that sort of thing. Making use of those will enable people to potentially pick up paints or the odd kit at a good discount MechaMan and ZeroWolf 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385251-hobbycraft-now-selling-warhammer/#findComment-6093398 Share on other sites
LameBeard
The convenience is good too - I already get some hobby supplies from Hobbycraft like Revell or Tamiya so having GW in the same place could be handy - the range isn’t great but for the most common products still useful firestorm40k, ZeroWolf and Firedrake Cordova 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385251-hobbycraft-now-selling-warhammer/#findComment-6093475 Share on other sites

Captain Coolpants
Typical, when they were selling them before, I was playing the game, and they were selling cheaper, and all their own vouchers worked, and then they stopped selling almost as soon as i discovered it... Now.. I don't play, and they start selling again. *shakes fist* Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385251-hobbycraft-now-selling-warhammer/#findComment-6094021 Share on other sites

Xenith
Haha, what? I also remember when they stopped selling in 2013/2014 or so. Hobbycraft had the unique appeal that their %discount offers stacked, unlike other places, so when they were selling off all the stock at 50% discount, I got my 10% student discount on top of that. The problem being, that they did not offer a FLGS discount and sold GW products at RRP. Element games taking off, alongside dark sphere really killed hobbycraft stocking this. From the link, I can see they're still selling at RRP, so expect them to stop selling this [again] after a couple of years! GAME stores also stocked GW products for a while, selling at RRP or slight discount, however the in store free model and monthly coin, as well as local places offering flat 15% discounts meant they sold virtually nothing. Whilst it's cheaper to order items from an online FLGS, if you want a couple of small items, it may well work out cheaper to buy it at RRP without having the added cost of postage (obviously, assuming Hobbycraft stock the item you want). That'll be because of the minimum order that GW insists upon for new stockists, assuming that still happens.
