Commissar Greif
It depends a lot on how you intend to use them. I think they're pretty solid for area denial since nobody really wants to end their turn within 12" of an S5 AP-1 flamer, and being able to force battleshock on a unit they shoot is a good bonus. That being said, they're about as slow as any other marine footsloggers, so they really need a transport if you want to get them anywhere useful on the midboard. CCE1981
I love running two squads in Impulsors. They always have a job to do. Drive-by burning can really do a lot of damage. TheNicronomicon
They’d be pretty funny in a Shield Dome Impulsor. Those Torrent attacks are S6 in the Firestorm detachment, too. They get the same bonus with the Pyromancy discipline active in Librarius Conclave but that’s pretty conditional. Which detachment are looking to roll with? Edited February 16 by TheNicronomicon Duh. TheNicronomicon
They ought to be pretty affordable on eBay, too, if you’re not buying local Helias_Tancred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385322-considering-an-infernus-squad-advice/#findComment-6095239 Share on other sites

Helbrechts_Sword_Servitor
I like mine, but they aren't very killy. I field them for the looks though. Knight of Maccrage
I've used ten in a pod for a while now. I find they are very conditional on matchup; guard, orks, and nids they are MVP. Against MEQ or knights, they can't scratch enough to get the value you're looking for. Ultimately, I find them very fun, but not great for all-comers builds. Brother Carpenter
It is a very templary squad. Cleanse with burning zeal and fire. Id go for it. Helbrechts_Sword_Servitor
Another point that you must take into account when fielding them: they're so much better with Assault. With that, they can really stretch the range on those flamers. So, in Firestorm Assault Force, you'll be shooting those flamers at everyone within 21 inches (6 move, 3 advance on average and 12 range), at strenght 6. Against T3 infantry (Guards, lots of Eldar and Sororitas), you'll be wounding on 2 and really bringing the hurt. Against orks and tough T5 critters, S6 is enough to even the fight.
