Trokair
Spiritseer, Warlord Spiritseer Bonesinger Wraithguard, Classic Wraithguard, D-Scythe Wraithblades, Axe Wraithblades, Swords Wraithlord, 2xMissile Launcher , Glaive, 2xFlamer Total: 995p Thinking of putting the Bonesinger with the Swordblades. I know the Bonesinger is Legend, but for a more casual / thematic game I hope it will be fine. If it is an issue for any particular opponent it morphs into a Warlok that goes and tries to get a Grudge Judgment Vengeful Dead token onto a key unit. Wasn’t sure what do arm the Lord with, hence the Missiles. I used to run a 2 Bright Lance Lord, a 2 Starcannon Lord and a 2 Scatterlaser (or sometimes Shuriken Cannon) Lord, obviously in bigger games. So a little lost what to do in a smaller game like this, were I am learning the new codex. Alternative list under consideration: Spiritseer, Warlord, Rune of Mists Spiritseer Spiritseer Wraithguard, Classic Wraithguard, D-Scythe Wraithblades, Swords or Axe TBD Wraithlord, 2x Bright Lance, Glaive, 2xFlamer Wraithlord, 2x Shuriken Cannon, Glaive, 2x Shuriken Catapult Total: 995p Karhedron and INKS 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385343-wraith-host-spirit-conclave-%C2%A01k-list/ Share on other sites
Xenith
Solid list for 1k! I'd stick with lances on the wraithlord as I think all lists need some long rane threats to tanks. Bonesinger is a fun choice, it'll be good to see how it works - it has the benefits of lone op also which might be fun with the higher duty enhancement. One thing to possibly add would be a jetbike warlock to guided missile into the biggest opposing threat to score you +1 to hit and wound against that thing, though I'm guessing the +1 to hit from being near a Psyker wouldn't stack with it. Trokair
Thanks. Had not realised that Jetbike Warlocks could be a unit of one (and that when so that he was the same price as single foot one). So yes that might be a good replacement for when the Bonesinger has to come out. +1 to wounds is always nice, and while the +1 to hit dose not stack with the being near a psyker +1 for Wraithguards and Wriathblades I think it dose for Wraithlords, as their wording is improve ballistic and weapon skill by one when near a friendly psyker. Xenith
Ah, weird, good catch, I didn't notice that the wording was different! Yes, a 45pt bikelock could be useful - throw them into the biggest thing your opponent brings, like a CTan, avatar, whatever to get your wraithlords at 3+ BS With +1 to hit and wound, rerolling 1's. Pretty nasty! TheArtilleryman
Stop it all of you, I’d talked myself out of building an Eldar army of all wraiths and jetbikes… Edited Wednesday at 08:48 AM by TheArtilleryman Xenith, Emperor Ming, Karhedron and 1 other 2 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385343-wraith-host-spirit-conclave-%C2%A01k-list/#findComment-6095742 Share on other sites
Xenith
If you pre-order 4x of the wraithguard combat patrol issue and 3x of the jetbikes issues from forbidden planet, you have like 840pts of Eldar for £70. Just need the characters then! Trokair
Taking the following for a game today. Want to give the bonesinger a few games to try it out, but the jetbike warlok is looking more and more tempting. I think my oponent is Deathguard with the Xmas detachment, will report on how it went. List: Spiritseer, Warlord Spiritseer Bonesinger Wraithguard, Classic Wraithguard, D-Scythe Wraithblades, Axe Wraithblades, Swords Wraithlord, 2xBright Lance , Glaive, 2xFlamer Total: 995 MadEdric, Xenith and Karhedron 2 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385343-wraith-host-spirit-conclave-%C2%A01k-list/#findComment-6095766 Share on other sites

Trokair
Sorry, no pictures, did not think to take any, and my wraiths are not exactly photogenic either; I have been meaning to refurbish the army for a while now. My opponents list was aprox: Lord with 10 Terminators, deployed in the middle 5 Plague Marines with some character attached and a first strike relic, deployed on one side 10 poxwalkers, deployed next to the Plague Marines 10 Plaguebearers, deployed on the other side Floaty drone thing, near the Plaguebearers Typhus and three man terminator bodyguard in deep strike I deployed Swordguard with Bonesinger opposite the Plagubeareres, Axeguard and one Spiritseer opposite the Plague Marines + Poxwalkers, the rest I put in the middle, but leaning towards the Axeguard side. Mission was terraforming objectives and additional rule was battleline can advance and still action. This was actually useful as Spirit Conclave made the Wraithguard/blades battleline. Won the role for going first and my opponent used his detachment scout ability to shuffle his units a little so that there was no good line of sights. Turn one, I advanced with Swordguard onto objective, while on the other side Axeguard and Spiritseer moved up, and Scytheguard and Lord advance towards the same objective. In the centre Wriathguard and Spiritseer shuffle forward but stay out of line of sight of where I think the terminators will be. Deathguard turn, everything surges forward. I manage to just overwatch the Plague Marines with the Sytheguard and roll hot, killing all 5 leaving the character on his own. Terminators cannot concentrate their shooting due to line of sight, so some goes into Swordguard and some into Sytheguard, casuign a few wounds each but no kills. Floaty drone also shoots the Swordguard but rolls low so no kills. Terminators then make a long charge into Sythguard, killing three. Lone character also makes a long charge into Spiritseer next to Axeguard, but respective saves results in a zero wounds caused draw. Turn two, I use Spiritseer to bring back a Sytheguard – quick aside, of the two remaining sytheguard one was on 1 wound, I initially thought it was like necrons where you heal first, and bring back if you can’t, but rereading it looks like you bring back, and if you can’t you then heal instead. The bone singer mended the wounded Swordguard. I fall back the Sytheguard (who gt overwatched by the terminators, leaving me with one sytheguard) and the Spiritseer respectively. Wraithguard and Lord moved to encircle the terminators, and after a moment of thought so did the Axeguard (instead of going after the lone character). The Swordgaurd moved forward with the intention of charging the Plaguebearers on the logic that of they came and charge me they would have more OC on the objective. Opponent rapid ingresses Typhus and Bodyguard onto my home objective. Shooting phase everybody shot at the terminators, killing quite a few. I then charge in with Lord and Axeguard and kill of the Terminators and Lord (to the wound exactly). – Note after the game we realised we did not apply the -1 to hit when I shot the terminators with the Lord’s Bright Lances and the Wraithguard, so two or three more terminators should have survived to see combat and kill a few Axeguard in return. It did not make a difference to the eventual outcome as I am confident I would have cleared them up on turn three, but it would have tied down my units and reduced my ability to clear the Poxwalkers and lone character and score objectives on that side of the battlefield. Swordguard make the charge and kill 7 Plaguebearers. Opponents turn, was fairly short, Plaguebeares fallback so floaty drone can shoot Swordguard. Lone character hunts down that Spiritseer (and kills him) and Typhus and Co do some action thing on my home objective. Turn three, Lord and Axeguard clear the lone character and Poxwalkers (as noted this should not have been until next turn) and take that objective, while Wriathguard take middle and Swordguard get back onto that sides objective. I now control no man’s land and have no good angle on Typhus so ignore him. Opponent draws more action secondarys and has Typhus and Co stay where he is and does that, while remains of Plagubeares move back and do similar. Floaty drone shoots again at Swordguard and dose do some damage. Turn four, I sit in no man’s land holding objectives, Lord moves a little towards Typhus and Co, but mostly to slow him down if he comes towards the no man’s lands objective, I otherwise ignore Typhus. Opponent draws more action secondary so Typhus yet again stays on my home objective. Floaty drone back up into his deployment some for seconderies. Turn five, Wraithguard advance into opponents deployment zone for secondary, while Axeguard, Swordguard and Spiritseer hold a no man’s lands objective each, Lord dose some posturing and gets a shot of at the Floaty done but doesn’t kill it. Typhus and Co could have charged Lord, but it would not have achieved much to change the points. Wraithguard win 75 to 56 (I think, it has been a few days). As noted should have been more like 65ish to 60ish on account of the mistake with terminators and therefore should have cleared poxwalkers of objective a turn later. Spiritseer positioning is important, and I misplayed the one on the side, he was right next to the Axeguard when he should have been slightly behind. Bonesinger Feel no pain and heal is nice if opponent can’t bring enough to kill full bodies at a time, but that was also the quite side of the board.
