Grotsmasha
Brent of Goobertown Hobbies and Casey of eBay Miniature Rescues (Youtubers) have come together to make Goblin Hobbies, and their first project is a "Paint Stamper" that is a kind of replacement to decals. Here's a link to the Vid and introduction, the product is Coming Soon, but I'm signed up. Evil Eye
I saw something about this! A really cool idea and I'm surprised nobody's done it before. DemonGSides
They were popular last year, had a few buddies trying them out. It's a different paint medium so it can be a bit finicky from what I've heard; these stampers have been used for acrylic nails for a while. Goobertown hobbies are good people tho so I hope they find success with this. Rain
I wonder how well this would work on curved surfaces like shoulder and knee pads. Also, making the actual stamps in Chapter/Legion symbols might run into copyright issues. Still, definitely an interesting concept. Transfers never look quite right to me, I hope this works out. Ramell
Interesting idea if it works properly. I'll probably have to try it out. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097113 Share on other sites
DemonGSides
Here's some more videos on the process; (Direct link of the website video above:) (Accidentally linked the wrong video and I can't edit it out on mobile) Another creator using the stamping system Edited February 26 by DemonGSides Xenith and Spazmolytic 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097116 Share on other sites
Antarius
I actually saw the Goobertown video where they (also) use it yesterday - I mean, the result speaks for itself, but I'm a bit unsure whether it's something I'm going to invest in/use. DemonGSides
I think it makes a lot of sense for shoulder badges but that's about it. And checkerboards; ork players are probably salivating at the ease lol Mithrilforge 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097183 Share on other sites

lhg033
as others have said - there are nail techiques that use these and I've seen a few videos of the same being done on models. It is the logical progression to have a hobby product to do this too and yes, as an Ork collect, I am indeed salivating! ...and also as a Dark Angels collector - check patterns everywhere!!!!! sbarnby71
Love the idea, think it will take some practice to get it in the right spot - decals allow for repositioning, but I think I'd give it a go. Brother Carpenter
I might see some use for this on my boys in black Grotsmasha 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097319 Share on other sites
sitnam
So my wife said she'd tried the nail version of this previously and couldn't get it to work. I don't know exactly why. I'm really interested in trying it Grotsmasha 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097326 Share on other sites
Marshal Mittens
Seems interesting, how easily it works will be the determinate factor, if it only works even 80% of the time will folks be willing to mess up 20% of their almost finished models? From what I understand it's not easy to use well. skylerboodie 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6097518 Share on other sites

phandaal
Seems useful for checks and stripes. The make or break will be how easy it is to use. Signed up anyway because free goblins! Mithrilforge
Oh My...Checker patterns on Ork's/ Orc's .... If i got only one plate it'd be that one and that alone would be worth the effort... @Grotsmasha - thanks for sharing Cheers, Mithril Grotsmasha 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6098085 Share on other sites
lhg033
I've actually signed up.... Looking a the plates they are showing there as a good number of images on there I would use. It'd be even better for me if they had DA icons but I expect there would be copyright issues around that phandaal 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6098256 Share on other sites
Chaplain Raeven
Interesting. Saw some iconography I could use, not to mention the checkers look especially juicy. Signed up as well. phandaal 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385389-goblin-hobbies/#findComment-6098413 Share on other sites
