Inquisitor_Lensoven
So the new EC kits are nice and have been growing on me by the day. As a result I’ve considered starting a small force. However this stupid hobby is silly expensive and I’ve been questioning if it’s worth the investment (at this time) or not. well I was heading home from picking up a jump captain, stopped for gas and someone scratched ‘noise’ into the gas pump screen next to the price. The universe is telling me I need some noise marines lol. TheNicronomicon
Way way back in 99 or 2000 a friend loaned me a bunch of 2E sourcebooks (I clearly remember Sisters of Battle & Assassins codexes, and I think a beat up copy of Rogue Trader; they were loans not gifts) I liked exactly two chapters out of all of them—Space Wolves (obvi) and Emperor’s Children. Fast forward to Leviathan, when I can finally afford to buy into 40K. Ended up with a bunch of proto-Wolves (waiting for the release to get serious about them) and a whole bunch of Nids, which I like a lot more than I thought I would. So I’ve been going back and forth about buying just the army box this weekend and building them more slowly than the other two. The universe may (2 positive tests so far, blood work next week) have sent me twins (alas, if only it were an Alpha Legion release!) this week so that seems like a pretty definitive STOP DON’T to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Inquisitor_Lensoven and ZeroWolf 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385407-has-the-universe-helped-you-with-a-hobby-choice/#findComment-6097721 Share on other sites
Bouargh
The Universe is always wispering me the same things :"Go for it..." And my wallet too: "Oops, not today and not too soon..." As far as EC are concerned, I find noise marines rock and the character too. But line infantery does not awaken so much lust in me . What saves me IS that I do not play CSM. Yet. Deus_Ex_Machina
Buy a squad of EC grunts and write for them Kill-Team rules. That should keep the expenses down. Helbrechts_Sword_Servitor
I got a pretty good price on some Horus Heresy stuff. A guy in my local area sold me some nicely painted basic squads, that I only had to change the base a little bit to mix with my IF.
