If you can get some fine, rubber tipped ones, yes. I've lost more pieces than I placed from small bits pinging out of metal tipped tweezers as soon as I put the smallest amount of pressure on them.

Metal tipped tweezers are great for decals though.

I didn't even know rubber-tipped tweezers existed! I've been tweezing like a savage all these years!

You can also get reverse-action tweezers (they stay shut and you have to squeeze them to make them open) , which can be quite helpful.

Personally, I have some straight-nosed watch-maker's tweezers, some bent-nosed tweezers, and a set of reverse-action tweezers.

One thing I use for small bits, like rivets is a tiny bit of blue-tac on the end of a cocktail stick. I super glue it in place, then add a little more blue-tac on the end. I can then pickup small items and dot them in place. I'm sure you can buy versions of this that use wax on the end, but never bothered to buy any.
