Axineton
Are tweezers worth using for putting tiny parts in place? Been thinking about this the last few days and wondering what the consensus was when it comes to them? Solution Grotsmasha Posted March 1 Solution Share Posted March 1 (edited) If you can get some fine, rubber tipped ones, yes. I've lost more pieces than I placed from small bits pinging out of metal tipped tweezers as soon as I put the smallest amount of pressure on them. Metal tipped tweezers are great for decals though. I didn't even know rubber-tipped tweezers existed! I've been tweezing like a savage all these years! Firedrake Cordova
You can also get reverse-action tweezers (they stay shut and you have to squeeze them to make them open) , which can be quite helpful. Personally, I have some straight-nosed watch-maker's tweezers, some bent-nosed tweezers, and a set of reverse-action tweezers. sbarnby71
One thing I use for small bits, like rivets is a tiny bit of blue-tac on the end of a cocktail stick. I super glue it in place, then add a little more blue-tac on the end. I can then pickup small items and dot them in place. I'm sure you can buy versions of this that use wax on the end, but never bothered to buy any. Firedrake Cordova
Sounds a bit like the jeweller's trick of using beeswax to pick something up Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385408-tweezers/#findComment-6098108 Share on other sites
