INKS
Wondering what you guys think of using them over the skitarri? for the basic troops? what are some of the problems I might run into? I guess missing some of the weapons? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385418-using-solar-auxilia-in-place-of-skitarii-models/ Share on other sites
Magos Takatus
I must admit I don't have any experience with the kit, but mashing them with the Skitarii kit could make some interesting household guard for the Imperial Knight houses. I'm fairly sure Duncan Rhode's Youtube channel did a good video on painting them for that particular purpose. The galvanic rifles or radium carabines can easily be found as spares at bargain price on ebay, but other specials are more tricky or costly. sitnam
I'm a bit late to this, but depending on how much kitbashing you want to do it might be better to get a whole Skitarii box. Individual pieces can be pretty cheap on eBay, but the savings decrease the more bits you want to add, and the shipping is most often not free. If you want just a few special weapons your better off with eBay, but once you start adding heads and backpacks its better to get a whole box IMO. bloodhound23 and INKS 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385418-using-solar-auxilia-in-place-of-skitarii-models/#findComment-6101153 Share on other sites
Dr. Clock
Also a bit late, but... You can get special weapons out of other kits than regular skitarii - you can get arquebuses out of the Ironstriders and plasmas from almost anywhere - it's mostly just the arc weapons that'll be tough methinks, but you could make them volkites, grav or similar if it's hard to find arc weapons specifically - they just need to be different enough from the plasma and arquebuses and probably not just flamers or meltas, and you should be fine. Heck - you could do alot worse than buying a 10-man Storm Section kit and convert half of them to plasma carriers to get you 2 special carriers across 5 squads. 2x20 lasgun sections plus 10 storm guys will probably be enough troops. I know I've always been pretty much fine at 50 Skitarii. Then you'd also have the power axes to make some... better electro priests? Cheers, The Good Doctor.
