Starless
So as the title suggests I'm not new but back after a long time away and back heavier than ever. I live in Western NY and got into 40K back in 1994. 2nd Edition. I played heavily and even worked at a pair of stores that sold Warhammer. Both outside of Rochester and in Buffalo. My deepest love for Games Workshop was and is Mordheim. By 2007 I had kids and a family and one of them became sick. I lost track of the game and life got busy. I checked back in during 7th edition when my young son showed interest but that was a very watered down version we played for fun and the faze didn't last long as he found Magic and we spend the next decade down that hole. Now with kids all grown up and me getting on in years I have long dreamed of getting back into a hobby I once loved so dearly. I honestly told the wife and co-workers for years that when I retire I'm doing nothing but Warhammer and spinning records. As the good Lord would have it I met a guy who new a Magic the Gathering friend of mine and he was excited to learn that I had a love for 40K. I told him I couldn't convince our mutual friend to play 40K because it was so expensive. See my friend lives and works in missions at a Christian organization and I simply try to be a good responsible with my $ and at the moment 40K wasn't a good use. But this kind chap insisted on hooking my friend and I both up with not just some Warhammer but loads and loads of it. He also gave us each almost a full set of the Citadel paints. He then even sold some stuff (at a crazy price) to another friend of mine. So now I am blessed to have 3 40K armies and an AoS army and loads of paints. To top it off when my brother in law saw I was painting miniatures he insisted on giving me his airbrush set up he bought for his old R/C cars he stopped doing. So in a matter of months I have acquired more brand new Warhammer than I could build and paint in 5 years and all the paint I could want and an airbrush. All at zero cost. Even more wonderful as it all came to me as gifts of kindness and appreciation. It's like a dream. I've really enjoyed getting back into it. And I look forward to relearning the game and also how to airbrush. I can't wait to read all threes threads and ask all kinds of questions. I'm so glad this forum is still here all these years later! Thanks for still having me! :) Brother Captain Vakarian, Tawnis, Grotsmasha and 8 others 3 2 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385428-not-new-but-back-after-a-long-time-away-and-back-heavier-than-ever/ Share on other sites

Starless
I was given a lot of stuff! For starts I have Space Marines that I'm building out as a Covenant of Fire (Salamanders successor) chapter, I had a large Ad Mech Force which I sold (as I wasn't feelin' it). I used the proceeds to get a large T'au force, some Space Marine stuff and supplies. I also currently have a large Genestealer Cult lot and I'm trying to sell that as I want to get a large set of Army Painter Air paints and more T'au. Oh! And I also have a nice little lot of Kharadron Overlords. Oh and he gave me a knight which was very exciting so I made it my first model painted in over a decade! lol No allies anymore but I guess I can still use him with my Space Marines.
