Helias_Tancred
New Question: Does the point costs of the three different Land Raider models keep you from running one and instead using another? That is where I'm at personally. I like the stats of the Redeemer, but geez at 280 it's just under a primarch lol. I keep thinking about the usefulness of the Crusader variant. Iron Father Ferrum
Nope. I look purely at the transport capacity & warload. Points can be cut elsewhere if needs be. The Crusader being cheaper doesn't make it better. For even cheaper you can get a Repulsor at that point if that's the goal, and that can definitely be loaded out to do more anti-infantry if that's the goal. Switching to the Repulsor also switches the transport rule i.e. charge vs deploy vs re-embark Helias_Tancred 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385446-land-raider-choices/page/2/#findComment-6101612 Share on other sites

Otherwise just go all out for the Godhammer or Redeemer. Inquisitor_Lensoven
Not a fan of losing the frag launchers. either they should be a short ranged weapon. Like 4-6” generic frag weapon profile but like 4 attacks. Or a non-weapon wargear with a special ability. maybe something like a once per game MW and battle shock test when a friendly unit disembarks and the vehicle is within 6” of an enemy unit. Didn't that just help the unit act like it had Frag Grenades for the charge? Pretty unnecessary rule overall actually. Everything PA had Frag Grenades to begin with, Centurion Assault squads could get equipped with those so that they could avoid that initiative penalty, and the only good Terminators are the TH/SS, which already struck at I1 anyway. And the entire game is completely different now. Helbrechts_Sword_Servitor
I run a Crusader because it's what I got, but my group would be cool with me running it as a Redeemer. Even as the Crusader I like the reduced points cost, and with "Target Augury Web" on the Techmarine, the Hurricane Bolters are fun. Arguably there are better targets for the Lethal Hits to begin with. The Reaper for example would get Sustained on top of the Lethal (and that's a lot when you have 20-28 shots to begin with), Repulsor variants have guns coming out of everywhere, and it helps avoid low swing rolls for any of the anti-vehicle weapons.
