For me, the one little tidbit that's suggesting there's any truth to it, apart from people having seen the box but not being able to post pics due to security reasons, is the fact that they announced to drop the rules for Lotara and Daemon Angron in pdf form only.

They won't be releasing a book to go along with that, like they did when Fulgrim Transfigures came out.

That's my personal indication there won't be any more book releases for 2.0

But then, that could also be wrong of course.

Interesting point. They did the Fulgrim book with just him, the chaos EC rules and some reprinted PDFs from the downloads section. They easily could have done the same again, but with two models this time instead of one.

I really don't understand why gw still keep so tight lipped.

The live Q+A session was largely pointless as most comments were "we can't say anything" or "keep an eye on warcom."

Even rough months would be something.

Just because I don't know what's coming, doesn't mean I'll spend my disposable income on other stuff. I'll simply hold until stuff I actually want drops ala the EC release. Can't just be me?

Its just corporate brain. We do the same in the big games business even though data shows its better to hype people up. They're just terminally scared of having to deliver against dates and rather keep everything secret until the last minute. So it goes.

Yep, that's also true. They don't like to give detailed information like that until just before release, and generally not in full even then, because they want you to buy the book.

I assume that an army made up of some marines, tanks and dreadnoughts ought to be fine. It's things like drop assault or angels' wrath I'd be more worried about - both whether they're legal at all or whether they will be any good.

So this is arguably a time to paint tactical squads, unless of course you care about the rules the legions will have.

I'm currently going through my kill team backlog instead. I'm really enjoying kill team and kind of wish the unofficial heresy version was played more.

Where would one find an unofficial heresy version please?

I was going to build some palatines with jump packs using the mkvi assault squad and new EC 40k bits. However, investing time and love into something that may disappear into the ether doesn't inspire. On the flip side, there's plenty of 40k EC and pointless uni courses to tie me over.

I haven't played this at all by the way so can't comment on how good it is. But could be fun.

Valrak's latest video about 40K Primaris Codex (because as a Heresy fan they're not Space Marines :teehee: ) has a bit at the end about the Heresy rumours of a reveal.

He feels it'll be May time.

I may have missed it earlier but a 'Saturnine Praetor' was mentioned?

Would love that, but really makes me wonder why they didn't do anything on Adepticon for that, because that's a reasonably small window for the hypetrain.

The lack of a trailer/reveal for adepticon could also be an indication that it isn't an edition meriting such marketing and more of a 2.5, and they might utilise the heresy thursday slot for drip feed marketing.

I can into grammar

As worked out by the lovely Soravion on discord, the preview is likely the 22nd May at Dallas?

The premium tickets have access to the preview on Thursday then

Which is exciting but so far away!

Mid May reveal for start of June 2 week preorder window for mid June release feels right and lines up with what they did for AoD.

Oh good about Xenith, even if we don't get the three months between trailer and box, that timeline I feel does fit each summer release from the past few years (well from full box reveal in May to proper release in summer).

Yea, I recall Leviathan was also officially announced at Warhammer fest (May 20th or so, 2023) with 2-4 weeks before preorders went up. May seems about right for the summer reveal.

I’m not sure that’s right is it? I remember people could play 10th at WHF, for one turn if they were prepared to queue for three hours. Hadn’t it been announced before that?

In any case I don’t know if we can draw all that much from this. These things haven’t happened enough times for us to make predictions based on on them. I still think we’ll see the new edition this year but I don’t know when.

I recall them doing big annoucements on the screen as we were in the heresy event, and the displays there was the first time we'd seen a lot of the models. I don't think everything had been totally revealed at that point.

Yeah, all the models were revealed at WHF, the confusion might be because 10th (along with a terminator and Termagant) was revealed at adepticon with a brief overview. There was also a couple of model reveals in the gap between adepticon and WHF on the Warhammer community page (von Ryan Leapers and the lieutenant)

Yeah that’s right. We knew Leviathan was coming by then but not exactly what it was. And we got what was supposed to be a subtle video about Legions Imperialis (war on a new scale!), though the release of that went a bit wrong.

Heresy 3.0 isn’t following that pattern. If it was, we’d have seen something like a CGI video or a mk2 marine by now.

Valrak mentioned he heard Heresy was getting it's own day this time. Wishful thinking, but maybe we get an Adeptus Titanicus 2.0 rule set or Legions Imperialis announcement with it if true. Titanicus's rule set is 7 years old now and the resin weapons going into "sold out online" designation is suspicious. It would make sense to hold a CGI video for hopefully May.

The same with this current edition of 30k, and AoS 4th. They had CGI trailers and the announcement of a new edition coming at Adepticon (30k in 2022, 40k in 23 and AoS in 24), and then their full box reveal later. But if nothing else, GW has always seemed to hate following any kind of pattern for too long before switching it up.
