Jolemai
So there's a feral Blood Angels Marine running around Necromunda... What do we think folks? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385465-vandoth-the-son-of-sanguinius/#findComment-6099212 Share on other sites
Spagunk
I have no problems with it, mostly. It depends on how they write out the timeline for the guy. I don't think he'd be over 9k years old (what with the HH legion numeral on his knife hilt) but it's an interesting way to introduce a marine without actually being a marine class entirely. To those who think it would not be possible for 1 marine to be there alone: the O.G. revenant legion during the crusade were seeding units on planets usually deemed important but too overrun to campaign against. In past HH examples not only did those pre-BA vets survive, but actually grew into an army on their own by the time the crusade fleets came back to check on progress. That mean he's gotta be doing right (i.e. blood drinking) to survive even a few centuries. TL:DR I think it's fine. As I said in the news thread, something about this gives off vibes similar to winged blood angel from the pariah series. both cases a son of sanguinius is living ‘underground’ in a busy hive/city, with (as of yet) no explanation as to how they got there or why. Blindhamster
i like the model a lot, id have liked an alternative head without the mask thing, but he's very nice regardless. I'm interested to see the model from other angles. On this board I have done necromunda gangs in the past (many years ago at this point), both times, they were led by a lone space marine in carapace armour (a scout), the first was a fallen dark angel, the second was an imperial fist. Seeing this chap really makes me want to play with that concept again. I don't imagine he's a legionnaire, mostly because of the time. The only marine from the heresy that isnt either relying on warp time dilation/shenanigans or is a dread was the salamander found in the salamander books... and he was basically a statue due to his age. What I do find interesting is... if he is a blood angel, why was he on necromunda? are there any specific instances we know of where blood angels went there? We know the imperial fists have a garrison there, but thats really it in terms of marine presence? I’d imagine it would be one of the rare examples of a marine going rogue with you going renegade or full traitor. like he just didn’t want to fight endless battles for others, and made his way out on his own. After all who is going to deny passage to an angel of the emperor?
