The Miners' Guild of Shaft VII have been slowly building up their strength before they burst forth from the tunnels to overthrow their Imperial oppressors and claim their home in the name of the coming Star Children. Through various machinations, they've persuaded their brothers in the Planetary Defence Force to join them in their struggle for dignity and freedom. Their time is not now, but it will come, soon...

I really enjoy the subversive element of the Cult and their joining up with Brood Brothers really appeals to me, together with the final horror of what they will inflict upon themselves and their brethren. I'm not the greatest of painters, but I do really enjoy giving these guys the dirty, scruffy, downtrodden look I visualise them to have.

As a new user, I cannot upload images, so here's a Reddit post of a few of my boys. I'll upload progress once am able to post properly.

Brother, your painting is a lot better than merely reasonable, in fact it's pretty great!

My painting is very unreasonable.  There's no rhyme or reason, no logic.

Thank you, you're very kind. They're painted to "Battle Ready" standard. Just don't look too closely. ;)

Life isn't always easy as an aspiring Primus. I got a group of the lads together to go 'acquire' another weapon of war from the PDF's deep storage warehouse, where long ago mothballed vehicles and weaponry are kept in the event their services are required in some long distant conflict.

Well, I was pleased when they reported success in their mission to acquire another Malcador to partner with the one we already have. When they arrived back, however, it wasn't quite what I had in mind. Still, it begins with 'M' and has tracks, I suppose.

Never send an Aberrant to do a Neophyte's job.

(I was planning to paint my second Malcador, but got distracted.)

This is a part of my project to paint up models to Battle Ready standard until I have my target models completed. I'll go back over and do the finer points once that's done. I'm also not thrilled with the mud on this one versus the Macharius Vulcan above.

Nice tank choices. I Never liked the look of the leman Russ tanks. And the orlock look is a great alternative to all the mining gear. The gangs are still the low life’s of society.

Thank you. I chose the tanks as it fits in with the background I gave them in that the world of Prawa V was once, centuries ago, torn by war. Centuries of relative peace led the Imperial bureaucrats to order them mothballed in giant underground bunkers where they sit and collect dust. As part of their slow building of resources, they have 'acquired' a few vehicles from these bunkers, hence many of them are of 'older' design. I'll be updating the blog I have created with some more background.

Thanks for the comment.

So, I know we cannot take the Valkyrie, but I really like the model and had to have one. Finally getting through my pile of shame as I first purchased and undercoated this about two years ago!

Obviously, I cannot take with with my Cultists, but I've more than enough Brood Brothers to field a comfortable 2000pts IG army.
