Apparently in typical GW copy and pasta fashion.  The demonette, seekers and fiends datasheets list the units having a leader but not actually statline for them.  I mean not a real big issue since the wargear is the same for the 3 unis.  I am not sure what they're listed as under the index as I havent played demons since 8th.  Typically, the leader of each of these units got an extra attack, and in the case of the seekers, it was just the rider and not the steed.

Yeah, in 10th squad leaders usually don't have different profiles, just different equipment options.  For example, if you look at the Noise Marine units, their Disharmonist has exactly the same entry as the other noise marines if he keeps his standard equipment (his close combat weapon is the same as everyone eles's), just has the option to swap it out for a power weapon/pistol which makes him different from the others in the squad.  Same with the Terminator Champion - and the same pattern carries over in the CSM codex for such things as cultists, the terminators there, etc.  Basically, any changes in attacks are now baked into the melee weapons rather than profile changes for squad leaders.

For demons where there are no squad leader weapon options, that just means that they are ineligible to carry the instrument or banner.  That is also how it works in the Chaos Demon Index as well.

You are still getting in more games than I am, though I understand how frustrating playing an unfairly diminished army can be.  Hope you have better luck with EC, for no other reason than I'm riding that boat too.

That said, the EC codex and its detachments seem.... really fair, actually.  There are some good synergies, but you definitely pay for them and they definitely can be picked apart by an able opponent.  So I don't foresee any immediate nerfs, though of course there are likely to be some point tweeks that may affect people's individual lists.  If anything is asking to be hit with the nerf hammer, its the new Ork More Dakka list, which seems incredibly powerful.

I still really worry about our lack of punch against tough targets, though... don't know what I'll do if my ork playing friend breaks out any of his titanic heavy lists.  Also have questions on how to answer my other friend's necron gunline list, other than to convince him we need more ruins on the table (and actually paint said ruins).

Necrons seem strong with starshatter arsenal.  While me and my friend were in LVO we picked up most of a necron army from the second hand vendors. Was only when we got back and got hold of a codex. That I was like crap we should have gotten a trio of triach stalkers. Now there still out of stock and we only found one

While LVO was great.  Playing my favorite faction was extremely miserable due to the December nerf hammer.  I would had busted out demons but it didn't seem to be a logical leap we could make with a narrative team using sisters and space marines.  I almost switched to a 16 model grey knights force. As I managed to paint my 1k sisters in 3 weeks. As I just keep getting distracted by life to paint the new sisters  if i didn't sell my old metal army I wouldn't have felt such a paint rush.

Well the original plan this year was for us to do tyranids and necrons for the rest of the year for narrative events.  My entire force idea needs the 3 stalkers as it's the anchor of my list building. While more important when we actually get to do doubles.  Then since he's a long term ork player he decided we could do orks instead. My only requirements there was orks on harlequin bikes and kommandos as I am a huge blood axe fan.  Once I get it all painted well have blood axes looting all sorts of Aeldari stuff and his deff skulls using dukhuri parts. Still fits into our narrative theme sector that hss a sisters shrine world, an Inquisition presence. Space marines.  Then a newly awakened Tomb world that had ancient Aeldari and dukhuri presence. That orks were fighting tyranids on.

Funny you mentioned the new dakka detachment he switched over to that. Friend than suprised me with lets get the EC box as I was like I might need to switch to demons for Dallas. Since I work a full time job and only way i can pay my friend back for all these suprise armies and narrative event vacations is paint everything to a near pro level. Thats a large part of why I am going to do carnival of excess.  As I have a large selection of Slaanesh demons i have painted up to a pro level since 2017.

Well didn't mean this to go for so long.
