Resin depends a lot on the specifics of the model. Resin is terrible at thin spindly bits as it’s very fragile, and it warps, so a lot of the old resin HH tanks had some funky looking bent barrels.

That said, for chunkier models, I find it by far the easiest material to work with. It’s soft and easily cut or sanded as needed, it’s easy to clean, and resin models don’t come as a 3D jigsaw puzzle where a single body part might be comprised of 3 separate pieces which requires a ton of seam filling and other nonsense. I recently built a demon prince, and it’s a cool looking model, but it’s an absolute nightmare to build.

This, 1000% this. Also, resin (and metal) being castable in rubber molds vs having to have steel tooling machined for plastic makes them much more viable for more niche models; they don't have to sell quite as many to make back their investment.

Anyway, on topic I'm looking forward to seeing the new KT announcement seeing as it's all but confirmed to have Tyranids in it. Hoping and praying for Shrikes...

We're also rapidly reaching a point where range refreshes are going to plateau due to there being minimal room for improvement on old / existing kits, and there's only so many directions existing factions can expand in past that beyond named characters.

I would respectfully point out that alot of ranges have more room and niches to fill in what would logically be their own specialization in terms of actual units/vehicles than just characters.

See the monastic vows WEs seem have universally adopted against any form of flight or other form of individual transportation.

Or the TS having seemingly collectively forgotten how to use any equipment configuration beyond the baseline tactical/terminator loadout. It is a continued tragedy that Prosperene mourning rituals involve avoiding bikes, air travel and touching profane (long ranged) weaponry.

Or that Cawl's attempt to copyright dreadnoughts succeeded and all chaos and loyalist variations were executed.

Jokes aside, thats just a few fairly similar factions. I think its kind of damning that we have got so used to subfaction-specific models not existing outside of marines and guard that the concept apparently doesn't register.

Some of us would buy Iyanden-specific Wraith units in a heartbeat. Or Ulthwé's actually professional Guardians who, given that this tradition variation is almost as old as the concept of Craftworlds, should arguably look different.

I could say the same about Nids, whose Hivefleets would logically have unique creatures. The Necrons, whose eccentricity and traditional would mean fairly variable high echelons (Guard, Immortals, so on).

And given how well it sells for marines, I think its unfair to say it wouldn't sell for Xenos. Its an untried data point so I'd actually argue its equally likely that the lack of distinct subfactions might be harming Xenos sales rather than the inverse. I'd even point to how often Chaos players sic 30k releases with a fervor to argue my point.

I think GW might even be aware of this, they have been testing the waters with Krieg and Kroot I think, and I think its paying off. Now we just need more subfactions whose name starts with K.

Grumpy internet as far as the eye can see, as GW fails to live up to internet generated hype…

Which GW themselves do a heavy amount of generating themselves

Don't get me wrong, I think folks need to manage their expectations, especially if this isn't their first reveal show rodeo. But when GW continually hypes up shows with the promise of super big reveals, they also get part of the blame when it's meh.

But who knows, maybe this time will have super big reveals

They literally joked about this in the preview preview: "Are we overhyping this? It's Warhammer; everything is turned up to 11".

And at some point people really got to accept that what's a big reveal for them doesn't move the needle for others and vice versa.

Ksalamanders?

Looks like you just hit your keyboard randomly whilst thinking about salamanders.

Are you copying Nick Kyme's writing technique?

Microsoft Word Paperclip:

”It looks like you slammed your forehead into the keyboard while thinking about Salamanders. Would you like help writing a Nick Kyme novel?”

I'm hopeful we get a tease, silhouette or reveal for upscaled Vulkan He'Stan.

I've come to terms with the fact that Codex: Salamanders is a fever dream, but I still have a small stash of copium.

That said, revised Assault Terminators would be a welcome and unexpected reveal, alongside Juggernaut Berzerkers and Red Butchers - all very necessary.

Truth: GW even didn't keep a seat in WE rulebook, for the already released modern plastic WE terminator Lord model.

Gotta love WarCom just posting all the stuff on the front page

I'd like to see Assault Terminators, Vanguard Vets, and a new kit for Templars (my personal wish is for a BT terminator upgrade sprue, as the BT range refresh was released prior to the updated terminators). But really my biggest wish is for any of the upcoming marine kits to have bits from marks 6-8, in particular helmets.

EDIT: whelp as I was typing this, leaks got posted lmao
