Grey Knights codex lore

I was going to pick up the 9th edition codex for the latest lore but, for some reason, it's way more expensive than the 8th codex.  Is there meaningful lore in the 9th codex that's not in the 8th codex? One thing I was trying to find out was what's going on with Kaldor Draigo.  As a Dark Angels guy, the last I heard was that he left the Planet of the Sorcerers with the Dark Angles after stopping the ritual Magnus was performing.  I was under the impression he could only leave the warp for a short time but he seems to have stuck around after Ritual of the Damned anyway.

IIRC the 9th edition codexes really did not have much lore for established Armies. I'll have to check when I am home later,

That's pretty much the gist of it in 9th.

 

He can leave the Warp for short periods but always gets drawn back.

I guess my confusion is that the last thing I read from RotD is that he loaded up with the Dark Angels and left with them.  It didn't say anything about him getting pulled back.

 

So if I bought the 8th codex I'm not missing any lore to speak of from the 9th edition one?
