Yes, the rebuild is finally complete!

 

I'm not quite satisfied with the distribution of ranks, however. While I expected some ranks to shift around, we had far too much of a shift into the Novitiate rank, with far too few in the other ranks. I think we can tweak this by reassessing the rank requirements rather than another rebuild, so @Gillyfish and I will take another look at the ranks to see where we can make some adjustments.

Q - is there / will there be a page somewhere that lists all the available badges you can earn?

 

I noticed that there appear to be badges for Poll Votes for example, which others have earned, but not clear if this is for creating a poll or just voting in one; I've definitely voted in polls before but never created one, and don't have any such badges, but I took the badge to mean just voting rather than creating; so it would be helpful to have a central list one can refer to for clarity.

Achievements for polls are only earned for voting in them. Since the only members who can create polls are the staff, it's not fair to earn awards for poll creation.

 

There are a few finishing touches, but 99.99% of the members are done. The finishing touches require a bit of manual intervention, so will be taken care of when @Gillyfish and I have time. These are mostly those members requiring adjustments based on past disciplinary action.

Interesting re: polls, not sure why I didnt get any badges for them, but perhaps will do moving forwards for future polls.

It's interesting (and worrying) that you didn't receive any awards for voting in polls before when you have voted in polls. If that happened to you, I suspect it happened to others.

 

It's likely that the system will retroactively award you for all poll votes the next time you vote in a poll. Fingers crossed. With the Banner of the Month contest (which hasn't happened the last couple of months since no one has submitted banners featuring the required Craftworld Aeldari ), you're likely to see regular polls, enabling you to catch up to where you should be fairly rapidly.

Okay, it looks like all the work on this has been completed, so I'm unpinning this now.

I wish that I had thought to do this sooner, but here's a chart showing the rank distributions prior/subsequent to the adjustment:

 

 

I wish that the Novitiate and Battle-Brother numbers were reversed and that the Veteran numbers were double what they ended up being, but it is actually very easy to reach both the Battle-Brother and Veteran ranks with a minimum level of participation in the features outside of the Forums, so I let it ride.

 

And while I'm happy that the number of members in the top three ranks exceeds the number that were in the old top rank, I wish the distribution was a little steeper (i.e., more Honoured Frater and a steeper decline to the Ancient Frater). The ranks aren't intended to be gatekept, however, so this isn't something I'm going to worry about. After all, the ranks are intended to be a quick indicator of a member's overall participation within and contributions to the community (with the badges serving as a more granular indication).
