'Nids are pretty neat. Admech are a little disappointing: one reused priest, one priest that looks like it was cobbled from rejected ideas from other priests, and the servitors are... fine, I guess. They're fine.

I am going to start my own topic to go into more details but Nids wanted and needed a kill team. finally getting one. love it. Raveners needed an update and it looks like a good update.

Ad mech has also been on my mind so this box might be perfect for me.. it's a little scary lol. 1 resued model I can live with. The underseet is odd, I like that in Ad mech. The more Tech priests the better.

I love servitors. Not just for this kill team which seems cool but in game and more variety of that makes me pretty happy.

I knew something looked off to me, then I read Brother Trans's post and I realised it:

I feel the servitors look a bit too 'with it' or competent. Their stances look too soldiery and not like remote-control weapons carriers on a braindead body.

Tech-thralls Covenant

This was the Horus Heresy version just a little while ago.  It's like they got it right the last time around.

"They" is however two different studios. The good thing is the existence of the kill team likely will mean the unit will be back for Admech, and the HH ones can be used for it. It was such a weird ommission to begin with.

I don't love the paint job  for the Raveners, but otherwise I love both teams. I wonder if the Techno archeologist inclusion might be a hunt at allowing other tech a priests to be brought instead

Personally I love the colorscheme (but its also because Im not a big fan of the skin color colorscheme wich is the main one), though for the Raveners it looked better in the video.. it looks great on the Hormagaunts though. It wasnt clear to me if those hormagaunts coming in the box are just for the special NPC mission or also usable as operatives in ravener teams.

All in all its a nice box.. but, it might be more expensive than usual ? The terrain seems like more than normal lately, and then there is the addition of Hormagaunts and the Techpriest.

On a sidenote.. this is yet again another time where a Kill team expands on a BSF introduction more so than the other/previous offerings

Im starting to wonder if we are getting Negavolt cultists, Crusaders, Ur-Ghul!? (or more likely a court) and maybe even zoats in the future. Although the beastmen are very different from BSF beastmen, and its probably all just coincedence.

Well, this will prove a nice expansion for our Tyranid project (assuming we ever finish painting all those other minis…) since Raveners is one of the few units that we don’t already own. I am also pretty jazzes about the terrain and expanded co-op mode!

Terrain is good. Can easily be scattered into existing terrain, too.

I like the AdMech.

The Raveners…I just don’t like their vibe.

I think Winged Warriors could be OP in KT but I would have preferred to see the ‘missing’ Shrikes rather than these.

A KT based on a combination of Lictor / Raveners/ Shrikes would be better.

As someone with both Tyranid and Ad Mech armies I was excited for this.  And I freely admit that it's more from the point of what they can bring to my 40k army than as standalone kill teams.

The Raveners are great. Really cool update and I'm looking forward to painting them. Nid specific terrain is also cool to see. Anything that isn't imperial ruins is always a plus in my book.

The Ad Mech though....

For a faction with such boundless potential for weird and wonderful stuff, a bunch of servitors really fails to capture the imagination. As others have said the poses aren't great. The character is recycled. I do like the Underseer, but I wanted more of that.  Disappointed overall.

These are fantastic, about time they did some new servitors based on the X-101 and inquisitorial agents  servitor design.

They now need to let Techmarines have these back as retinues in marine armies.  Engineseers in Imperial Guard armies as well.

Remember these are combat servitors, combat servitors in 40k have never been weak or zombie like.  The 2nd and 4th edition versions were bulky and upright like these.

The head of this Ravener looks like a Vespid. Do you think they're playing into the 3rd ed thing of Tyranids being made with stolen DNA from other 40k races? Some of the other raveners have design cues that half remind me of other factions.

I'd love if that was the case. I loved that lore back in the day, ork dna in biovores, eldar in zoanthropes, Space Marines in Hive Guard (shame the 3rd models sucked in comparison to the 4th edition ones), would have loved to have seen more variations on that.

Raveners look brilliant to me, and I can already picture them in my colour scheme though I'll probably wait until they're available separately as money will be tight, that and I can not be chewed with too many fights over limited boxes.

I'm skipping Blood and Zeal as I wasn't so much of a fan. This one will be an autobuy for me if it isn't too expensive.

I'm not completely sold on all the Ravenors, but I think that is more I'm not a huge fan of that paint scheme. I find it a bit to clean and 'glowy'. I like them and the terrain enough to want both. Hopefully there will be a few head varieties etc to play around with.

I have a slow grow Nid army project and these will add nicely.

I like the ad mech stuff. I don't think I have that techpriest in my existing pile of shame for admech and I kind of like the servitors. Whilst in most cases I tend to think if Servitors as lobotomised, with Admech I think it is possible that they may have just upgrades a few regular humans to be more fit for purpose so retain some greater levels of thought

In both cases each team can/probably will be fleshed out a bit more from the existing Nid/Ad mech ranges to add a bit more flavour and I have a fair selection to chose from for these already which is nice for me

Yeah, I always try to look past the paint scheme on previewed minis. I really don't think the "highlight everything" approach works well for, well, anything really. I get that they use it because it really brings out all the details, but I think it generally makes the minis look much worse.

Both teams look really good but the scenery is also a big winner for me, I wish we could get a set that was just those capillary towers. I can see what people mean when they say some of the servitors looks  a little to cognizant but it's only the Auto-Proxy and Technomedic I'm getting it from the other all seem fine.
