The implication seems to be the older plastic Raveners will be retired soon, which is a shame as it's a nice kit and fantastic for kitbashing.

Me and a friend made some pretty weird Screamer stand-ins with the old kit at one point.

I'm really liking the sound of co-op campaign rules. Will be very interesting to see how those play out.

I was going to hunt it as its for soli play mostly, but as I have a backlog, I don't have the volkus terrain anyway for the layouts I didnt bother trying.

I think I'll wait for the next "core set" which includes the base terrain, which I'm guessing will be the next box set?

If anyone sees any copies still available online for the UK I'll welcome a DM heads up please!

Edit- Battleground Gaming UK let me order one. Not sure if they'll fulfil it or how many they have left, but was worth trying!

I hope people who wanted Typhon got it.

I was fortunate enough to get a review copy, minus the servitors. I’ve painted it up and played through the solo/co-op campaign with my Ratlings.

It was fun. They’ve significantly improved the solo stuff and it’s quite challenging, especially if you have things like barbgaunts and Von Ryan’s Leapers available. I found it a good way to learn more about my Ratlings without having to subject another human to them.

Review of the joint ops is on Goonhammer here:  https://www.goonhammer.com/goonhammer-reviews-kill-team-typhon-joint-ops/

Plus we’ve reviewed the models here: https://www.goonhammer.com/goonhammer-reviews-kill-team-typhon-the-models-and-terrain/

Hope that’s useful. Good luck getting your boxes.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve also taken a chance and ordered from there. They seem to have pretty mixed reviews from online, so I’ll not hold my breath.

I wish you good luck. I ordered some dice sets from there a few weeks back that they stated were in stock. One has supposedly been shipped although Royal Mail still haven't received it after a week. The rest are still pending. No response to my emails either.

Typhon? More like typh-gone. In the cart within the first 6 seconds, insufficient stock during checkout less than 78 seconds later.

happened to me on two other sites.

And naturally, eBay is full of people selling it at a 30-40% markup. With some dumb people actually paying it.

scalpers will scalp so long as people willingly pay their markups.

Man, that's sad

I actually had my FLGS put two boxes aside for me, mainly because I want to do something with the terrain (and the Tyranids), so now I feel kinda bad for "hogging" an extra box. On the off-chance that anyone in Denmark needs the book or the mechanicum guys, drop me a line and we'll figure something out!

…and they refunded my order on Monday.

Ah well.

I think I'm going to try and pick up some sets of the terrain. I'm looking to redo and spice up my terrain collection so a few ruins with Capillary Towers bursting through the floor could be a cool way to go.

I signed up for the register of interest with Darksphere - they have always been pretty reliable.

It may be worth a phone call to see if they have any left after orders are fulfilled/giving your name to express an interest in case they have any people not complete their orders in time

I've found that  in store they seemed to have stock of Hive storm well past when GW were out of stock, the same with several army box sets etc

If you want a set it’s well worth going into your games workshop when it opens on Saturday. They seem to get a separate allocation. Some shops do pre-orders.

There won’t be a discount like you’d tend to get at a FLGS of course but it’s something.

  • 2 weeks later...

I see that GW has quietly changed the status from “temporarily out of stock” to “sold out online” suspiciously disheartening. By all accounts they should have maybe taken a break from making grand cathay and made more typhon sets. Another failure to read the consumer base perhaps?

I see we're back to "Kill Team sets disappear on pre-order day" again. Sigh. Hopefully it won't be too long before the AdMech minis get a seperate release, and hopefully they're a mainline 40k unit so they don't vanish eternally when they get cycled out of the seasonal model.

Wowza.

Got a KT Typhon on order, shipped even. From an Ozzie discount site.

It didn't even show on their site during pre-orders, turned up at midnight Ozzie time as 'sold out online'.

I looked again at lunchtime, then they had 3 available.

Sweet Kill Team. So uninspired by the shambles from James Workshop.
