What an absolutely awful time to be an EC and SW player...

My wallet feels like Ahriman tried to save it.

Also, is it confirmation bias or is there something terribly off about the new wolves? Don't mean ugly or badly made, I mean like... 'No Wolves on Fenris' off.

Would also love to see the rules for the Wolf Priest's new Holy Prison Shank.

The viking noseguard on the Headtakers is also fantastic, almost as much as how random and customized the Hunters and Claws look. The heads in particular are amazing.

I had been distracted so much with other things lately that I haven't devoted as much time as I wanted to, hobby-wise.

For whatever reason, this release has certainly stoked the flames and I am super eager to get my hands on this set.

Everything here is superb, especially those Headtaker helms.

The Rout returns to Armageddon. The models look amazing. Worth the wait. I'm excited for the Logan reveal. I hope the Wolves box isn't sold out before I can get one.

@StrangerOrders I feel your pain. Space Wolves and World Eaters at the same time for me.

I see potential in the Space Wolves line infantry. They seem like a good set of bodies and arms to be used for classic Marine conversions.

Also can we put an end to this pose? Every time it shows up it looks ridiculous and terrible.

These look great, they're everything that I wanted out of it. Bespoke/separate blood claws and grey hunters kits, nice heads, MK VI and MK VII influences, no sculpted shoulderpad details for blackmanes, very nice.

Minor gripe is the lack of the 'classic' SW style chainswords, but they've got a lot of SW swagger in their posing, which does make up for it in my opinion.

I don't like space wolves, BUT these are just objectively great, especially the characters and headtakers. Also blood claws and grey hunters seem so faithful an update you could keep your old models or just mix an match wildly

The headtakers have a wolf each for walkies, except the leader who walks the headtakers it seems.

Also someone on fenris took a look at Bladeguard and said "We can work with that."

I think they're a nice improvement over the previous kit, there's a very nice gradation between Wolf Guard units and Blood Claws/Grey Hunters. Those shouldn't have too much, they did just the right amount of detail imo.

As a fan of marines im genuinely very happy for the Space Wolves players, those kits look amazing, im loving the mixing and matching or Armour mks, and the chapter customisation is fantastic, Its exactly the direction that I'd love to the the Marine range move in.

As a Blood Angels fan specifically however All I'm feeling right now is overwhelming envy and the beginnings of the Black Rage setting in. Why the :cuss: couldnt we have gotten kits like this for our Death Company and Intercessors? Why do the Head Takers look so much better than our new Sang Guard? Even more than the comparison to the Black Templars this release is showing just how half-:cuss:'d the BA one was.

SW players would be very happy to see Blood claws and Grey hunters are real new model kits, not decorated intercessors.

Guess who are unhappy.

You can't be that mad.
At least your 5 additions actually look like they belong in the army.

I was going to post something like "Space Wolves win the Refresh, not close," but I decided against it because I didn't want to actually make anyone feel bad. But its pretty stark. I can see how it feels like a slap in the face in comparison.

I'm not a collector but the wolf stuff looks great. Happy for the wolf players. Be interesting to see updated wolf guard terms too.

I wonder if the 'good' guys will see off Angron and chums in time to see the orks return to Armageddon?...

Ghaz would be upset if he didn't get a crack at Angron. Would be a nice setting for Leman Russ to return. Or Yarrick. Or both... ohh that reveal video would be something.

They did describe his role correctly. I wonder if he will get rules for healing balms.

Yes, the stream reveal said he has the Apothecary healing and the Chaplain +1 to wound rules.

Black Templars did will, as did Dark Angels, even if only half way with the obvious Ravenwing exclusion. Blood Angels did as well except for the Sanguinary Guard, which aren't the absolute worst, but are a definitive let down for the range. Bad enough they should redo them in the near term (even if they won't...) and have a stern talking to whatever design lead pushed for/approved that design (or replace them if this is a recurring issue...).

They've been trying to be fairly faithful to design, so that outlier is clearly some level of management failing at expectations, as that should've been caught early on if they were being attentive.

Honestly you might as well, a bit of extra salt in this wound won't make any difference, and there really is absolutely no argument that the Wolves did incredibly out of this. The Black Templars are also excellent and the Dark Angels were at worst decent, but wow. These are just exactly want I would have wanted, but with blood angels details instead of viking ones.

Love these so much, they will be a great painting  project when I finally get to them. The abdominal armor alone not being covered by fur or cloth that goes under the breastplate is fantastic. All of the models look really good and so glad there’s some breastplate variation, and the armor detailing has great progression, as has been said by others, between the various ranks and getting more ornate as you go up. The nasal guard on the helms of the Headtakers is a great little touch adding a bit of flavor without forcing the models to ape a specific culture, and I think that Mark 3 helms (older style, not the newer HH Mk3s) will look really good with the ornate armors as well.

Their armaments are also great - very glad to see they aren’t just Intercessors with funny names, but are a little more uniquely armed to suit the Wolves, and it looks like GW did a good job on detailing the weapons without requiring wolf icons on every single item.

Can’t say these will coax me back to play the game, but fantastic models, GW, good show.

From peering at the datasheets visible in the army box pic, a few interesting notes:

All units have move 7

Grey Hunters are OC3

Grey Hunters get a Bolt Carbine with AP0 and Rapid Fire 1(?).

Yeah, this tracks with what they shared on the stream. Blood Claws also re-roll 1s to wound, unless their target is on an objective, then it's re-roll all Wounds.
