Yes, I could see it happen that they release all 3 together, thats why with previous release timing theories I always say "IF the roadmap is in order." because Im not that certain it is supposed to be, but we need the following release to clear that up. If they release the 3 chaos codexes together, it would prove it isnt... if they first release TS it probably is.

 

There is 1 thing that I could see possibly being against them being dropped together though

the 200 euro LE codexes

Their intention is to appeal to people to buy all 4, its less likely people will do that if its one 600 euro drop.

Fair point, but wouldn't that mean that those four pictures stand for five 40k release slots with some time between them? (3 for Chaos and 2 for Wolves)

 

If you want to accomodate for peoples Hobby budget, you'd need to drop one Chaos Faction every four weeks. And so far I did not encounter anyone who really wants all four super special editions. So might as well drop them all at once.

Space Wolves, as I understand it, would need two release waves: one for the army box and one for regular release, just like Krieg and EC before.

 

So maybe it's Chaos Triple Release and then SW Army Box and then SW regular release.

 

Just a thought.

I'm kind of halfway expecting them to do that. It's a small slate of models, and they were all previewed at the same time at the last reveal show.

The bad news is no Space Wolves pre-order this week.  The good news is that it looks like all the Chaos pre-orders are now done (pending them going up next Saturday).  Maybe we've got a Monday or two of previews and then pre-orders in early May?

Thousand Sons are still missing. They could go up together with the SW Army Box, but I think that'd be strange.

You're right, I forgot about them and their weird bird-bot.  It's still good to get two of the armies out of the way in one week, and coming right on the heels of the EC pre-orders gives one hope that the rest of what they've announced won't be drawn out over an extended period.

 

Given their historical enmity, TS and SW getting their pre-orders at the same time wouldn't be that strange - but the stage for the SW refresh is Armageddon, which is a battlefield with the angry red boys on it, not Thousand Sons.  So I agree it's unlikely we'll see them both at the same time.
