It looks like Tzeentch Daemons were added to "Thousand Sons" faction on the Warhammer website today. This happened for the EC, DG, and WE apparently just before their Sunday previews their following respective weekends.

We all know the box is coming well before the rest of the waves since it has that Codex in it, right? So this news could bode well for SW & TS alike this weekend, since SW box is a pretty small thing to release alongside what is a very tiny release for TS. Here's hoping

I’m wonder if Grimnar will have different head options like Abaddon, The Lion, and other marine centerpiece models. I hope he does.
Grimnar definitely is in the same tier as Abaddon of models with lifelike intensity.

I doubt it. Part of the aesthetic of Space Wolves is they're too dumb to wear helmets.

They do wear helmets when they need to, but they prefer to go without because of their enhanced senses, which are more heightened than other space marines. For example, in the Ragnar books he can practically fight with his eyes closed because his sense of smell is so strong. When he is forced to wear a helmet he feels handicapped.

Its over Abaddon! I have the high ground!

I hope he is as huge a the pictures are showing because that would be awesome.  Ok quick question regarding LOS how would that work due to his height with the base or size of base.  Asking out of curiosity as i dont play 40K since 4th edition.

Also i am so glad they got rid of the cabling on the axe, i have never understood the cabling on models such as the cabling on the aggressor legs

I'm pretty sure that's called modelling for advantage, and is definitely not allowed. I'm in the same boat as you though, haven't played a game since 4th. But I'm very interested in picking these wolves up as my next painting project

I wonder do they take his base into account when costing him for the game? Because it is a disadvantage over some other characters that don’t have a big rock to stand on.

Yeah he has to be built as is. They build the strats and strengths around that as well.

They do when they creat rules and synergy

I assume people will model him in a way he is removable from his tactical mountain so he is not as tall or would that not be allowed?

as others said, you could model him off the base, but for the purpose of he can be seen or not, you're expected to use official model dimensions - so, he's even easier to see than Dante, and Dante is pretty high up due to his flight base

Every chapter master sans Dante has a long history being modeled without a helmet. 2 primarchs too.

Not necessarily true. Along with the fact some of those have helmet options to begin with, don't forget there's Pedro Kantor, the first model of Shrike, and the FW models for Tyberos, Asterion, and Carab (granted that one did have a bare option, but it wasn't the main build used for display on the site).

Friend shared with me the leaked decal sheet.

Couple notes

1. New Great Company! The second edition Spirit Wolves decal is making a comeback. My theory is they will replace the Iron Wolves great company as that Wolf Lord was explicitly iced by Magnus.

2. Harald Deathwolf, aka the Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf, lives and has his Great Company incorporated in the new decal sheet. Reinforcing my belief that thunderwolves kit endures in the next codex and  next Space Wolves model update probably sees him updated even if his current finecast model is retired.

Also happy not to have to freehand the Deathwolves iconography anymore.

Wolves fight without helmets because their senses are heightened even by the standards of other astartes. Their sense of smell and hearing is so enhanced that helmets are more of a detriment in many situations. They do still wear them when they have to, as noted in prior posts, and some Wolves seem to prefer going into battle wearing them.

Very nice slate of decals here. Actually been tossing around in my head which Great Company I want to rep on the table. Leaning more towards Blackmanes because I'm huffing copium that Lukas will return some day, but I'd also like to do a big block of terminator shield brothers with Arjac, so I'll probably throw a few Champions units in, too.

I just do all my terminators from Logan's company even though my primary company is Deathwolves. It'd make sense he would just show up on any old battlefield surrounded by Arjac and a block of terminators. Rest of his company is doing boarding actions in orbit or something.
