I just do all my terminators from Logan's company even though my primary company is Deathwolves. It'd make sense he would just show up on any old battlefield surrounded by Arjac and a block of terminators. Rest of his company is doing boarding actions in orbit or something.

Yeah, that's pretty similar to what I've considered doing. Having most of the marines as Blackmanes, but all the terminators as Champions of Fenris.

Looks like rules are starting to leak out.

List of the 20 datasheets:

  • Logan Grimnar
  • Njal Stormcaller
  • Ulrik the Slayer
  • Bjorn the Fell-Handed
  • Ragnar Blackmane
  • Arjac Rockfist
  • Wolf Priest
  • Wolf Guard Battle Leader
  • Blood Claws
  • Grey Hunters
  • Wolf Guard Headhunters
  • Thunderwolf Cavalry
  • Wolf Guard Terminators
  • Fenrisian Wolves
  • Wulfen
  • Wulfen with Storm Shields
  • Murderfang
  • Wulfen Dreadnought
  • Venerable Dread
  • Iron Priest

That sound you hear is the Blood Angels community being overtaken by the Black Rage.

Interestingly there's no Wolf Scouts, Hounds of Morkai or Stormfangs.

I was just about to post this!

Interestingly all the old Space Wolf boxnaughts stayed.

I think Wolf Scouts will be a kill team with downloadabls rules in the fall or next spring.

Also with wolves having their own entry can they be taken by themselves?

Surprised that all the dreadnoughts stayed. I suspect they did it to keep Bjorn in the codex. I’m really pleased Bjorn stayed. The other surprises being Iron priest and fenrisian wolves staying and losing the fliers and hounds. Although I’m not sure we should be surprised about the hounds. Ulric and thunder wolves staying are also a surprise but less so. Ulric is a newer model so that makes sense. And DA kept their black knights so T wolves staying makes sense.

Can anyone start translating the data sheets?

Yeah that's about right, that is a considerably less bad list than I was expecting. Which is genuinely great for the wolves but what the :cuss: did the Blood Angels do to deserve what they got?

I am glad that our Dreads are staying but the loss of the Fliers sucks, especially considering the effort I put into magnetised mine.

I’m surprised about the fliers.  If they are getting rid of fliers not sure why the Dark Talon and Nephilim stayed.  Glad the box dreads stayed.

There is another profile next to the Iron Priest. It's something starting with a W so it's propably none of the fliers. Anything else missing from the list?

Looks to just be the Wolf Guard Battle Leader's page, as they were posted out of order.

Right, makes sense putting the Iron Priest in the characters section.

Those pics are blurry. I think I can make out the rules of Blood Claws and Grey Hunters, but it could just be, that's because those were allready leaked.

Edit:

Logan can make one unit in strategic reserve count the number of rounds as +1 once per battle round.

And he has a 12" Aura that adds a CP to enemy strats targeting space wolves units.

GW Works in mysterious ways like that..

Though, wouldnt the spacewolf fliers work well as primaris gravtank proxies visually/sizewise ?

I might be overimaging things, but with the randomness of what gets removed and whats not it sometimes feels as if that is a factor as well. ( though if there is a link its probably more from a redundancy pov. )

I'm interested how they integrate all the vanilla stuff into this Codex Supplement. All the characters shown can only join the SW specific units. And the specific units don't have anything that indicates, that other leaders could join them (something like: ' if a leader can join Intercessors, it can also join Grey Hunters').

So if you whant to run your Librarian as Runepriest, you also need to run a unit from Codex Space Marines for him to join.

I'm not familiar with Blood or Dark Angels. How do these supplements handle that (for example: can generic TDA Characters join Death Wing Knights?)?

1. It's very possible they do, but the print is blurry and a different language.

2. All those unique units for the Angels have clarifications for any generic HQ to join.  However, I think there's a couple weird ones for Black Templars.

I am German, so I think I got the rules. Also the Blood Claws and Grey Hunters are propably the easiest to decipher. Unless these rules are hidden in the weapons profile, no generic Character can join those two units.

EDIT:

The Head-Takers include a profile for their wolves and the first special rule translates to 'Let the wolves loose' so they propably are able to detach.

EDIT 2:

Could the army rules section do the work to integrate the vanilla marines? Maybe specify wich generic characters are available and wich units they can join. They'd also need +1 move and some keywords (Runrpriest for Librarian or Longfang for Helblasters).
