All this drama over the 13th Co community showcase army and choice of models only makes my decision to convert a Wulfen unit from the new BC box and Primal Hounds all but guaranteed.

As for the SW Primaris LT, I am going to keep him as a Vanilla SW Primaris SW LT. This will distinguish him and any Vanilla SW Primaris from the rest of the Firstborn SW Primaris. I think this would look fairly cool on the gaming table.

Wow Gorgeous conversions.  13th have returned so they dont need to have pre heresy armour now, besides the marines with the curse will be bigger so from a fluff point they will need primaris armour

Blood Claws will be available this weekend too right?

Gonna use a mix of Grey Studios Primal Hounds bits and the new BC pack to make my Wulfen.

I don't think so. They haven't announced any preorder or up for order for any of the individual release things.

It'll be probably the same weekend that the codex goes live, I would expect another two to three weeks.

How many of you all are intending to use Haldor as a WGBL? I know most seem to be eager to build the new guy with the shield, but I'm going to want so many of these and I want to try and avoid the copy paste look myself haha!

I changed him a while back to my Ragnar count as Alarik Silvermane

I feel like whoever designed the case for storing the book & cards in the army set box is a saint. Not sure if this box set is the first to have that or not but I'm grateful.

I plan on running him as a WGBL, I think he would look good in a squad of grey hunters. Will have to build them to confirm .

The EC box also had one. Great design for sure.

I got my army box yesterday, and I'm pretty happy with it.  I don't normally go in for collector's edition stuff and I didn't this time - I wanted the models, and the army box is a good discount on them.  But the hardback, gold leafed cards and codex are quite nice.

One sad note is one of my Blood Claw sprues is missing part 39, the open-handed alternate right arm.  I've looked everywhere in the box for it and around where I opened the box.  It's a pretty cool part, but I'm not sure it's worth hassling GW for a replacement.  I would only want one of them in the squad anyway.

If you got it from GW direct, they'd probably send you a whole blood claw sprue to make up for it.  Seems worth an email.

It's a little bit of a bummer but honestly it really doesn't change much of anything.  Maybe I would've used that arm on a Grey Hunter, maybe not.  Getting 5 "free" Blood Claws sounds good till you realize they're only fieldable in multiples of 10.  When my playmats for the Boarding Action box showed up damaged I contacted GW customer service and got replacements for them, but this feels like it falls below some kind of pettiness/Karen threshold that I'm not willing to sink down to.  If it was a part that's required for assembly it'd be different, but 90% chance that bit just goes in the bits box.

Never underestimate the value of extra bits. You never know what a kitbash/conversion will require when the mood strikes

It doesn't feel like pettiness or Karen until you start DEMANDING a sprue.  You letting them know there's a QC error is a very good consumer thing to do, as it helps others with making sure they get something.  If you get a sprue out of it, sweet, if not, you at least let them know and they'll definitely give you SOMETHING, even if it's just $5 to their webstore.  Any way it shakes out it's worth a 2 minutes email.

And also I'm with jaxom; more bits for the bits box.  You can say it's bad now, but that's 5 bodies to use towards another squad to help mix up their silhouettes.  I'm always happy to have free plastic.

I'm having a really good time with these new kits. These Grey Hunters are so dashing I almost want them to take me on a date.

can you give us some comparisons next to regular intercessors? And, if you happen to have any crusader bodies that'd be interesting too. Just intrigued on height.

I got mine too. I resisted ordering it for quite a bit, but I ended up convincing myself I'd do a small 13th company force, like back in the EoT days. They'll likely take a bit of time to get them to look their best, so they might not be part of my CTA this year, as I'll also be doing both Deathwatch and Tyranids. Still, it's a really nice couple of kits.

I also second the "write an email to customer service" call. I'm currently doing Deathwatch Veterans with (mostly) ETB-Primaris bodies and I can attest that it's always a good thing to have some extra bodies lying around for kitbashes

I got my box, and have had no problems with it. Seem to go together really well, maybe a bit less generous for bitz than previous kits but also a lot less busy.

Currently working out what angles to cut to make the headtakers have 2 axes instead of axe and sword, spares from GH and BC kits are useful there.

I'm not home right now to take photos but their scale is consistent with Intercessors.

just interested, because stuff is still varied (the BA captain, for example) is quite short, where the crusaders are very tall.

I don't have any Crusaders. Here's some comparison with a converted og Intercessor and Blade Guard. Any perceived size difference comes down to stance and posture IMO
