Marshal Reinhard
I don't believe there's been any size shenanigans with the scale of any primaris marines since their introduction. Every kit released since has been pretty in keeping with the very first Dark Imperium box Intercessor, these space wolves look to be no exception Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385577-space-wolves-refresh/page/39/#findComment-6115913 Share on other sites

The torso is also actually a little shorter. The crusader squads lower legs are a couple mm longer than intercessors also. It's not huge, but its enough. The BA captain is pretty annoying as actually it makes him look a little silly next to a lot of models lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385577-space-wolves-refresh/page/39/#findComment-6115914 Share on other sites

Wispy
The thing I like about the Blood Claw kit is I'm 3 Marines deep without having to put a pistol in anyone's hand yet. Wolf Guard Dan
Just finished reading the Armageddon campaign book. They mention wolf scouts a lot. I know in the codex they say “these units are the wolf scouts,” but could be foreshadowing to a wolf scout release. Hope the kill team rumors heat up for them. Blindhamster
Honestly with the introduction of Phobos, the idea of full marines ever reverting to scout carapace doesn’t make a lot of sense now. I really think the Primaris launch aimed to concretely establish Marine shape designs and part of that was "everyone is in Power Armour." Scouts would have existed in lore, but would not show up on the tabletop anymore. All the past now, and we've new Scouts.... Blindhamster
Difference is, scouts are the new guys, that can’t wear power armour yet. wolves instead give the black carapace early, before the marine has fully proven themself. So the concept of the carapace armour scouts for space wolves just seems really odd. wolf scouts are veterans. It’s honestly dumb to have them in the carapace now Phobos exists. They should really be a unique veteran Phobos unit now. Bryan Blaire
It would absolutely make sense to see the Wolf Scouts take up the Hounds of Morkai role as well, and the Incursors/Infiltrators/Reivers. It’s really what they would have been anyway (minus the made up Hounds capability, but I really like it as a thematic element for the Wolves). It would be an excellent opportunity to give us a unique Phobos unit. Make them anti psyker like hounds were. I could see GW keeping tradition and putting them in carapace. I wouldn’t be disappointed either way. I’m not familiar enough with Phobos lore. Is it more stealthy than carapace? Are there any drawbacks to Phobos which would make carapace more desirable? Are there any drawbacks to Phobos which would make carapace more desirable? I am struggling to think of any. GW always seem to avoid side-by-side comparisons, probably so we can't poke holes in the logic of future releases. While Phobos armour is lighter and optimised for stealth/infiltration, it is still full power armour with all the enhancements one would expect such as being fully sealed, auto-senses, enhanced strength etc. Scout armour is passive, just ceramite plates. I suppose with no power requirements or complex parts, Scout armour could function independently indefinitely. Power armour will eventually need maintenance and resupply (or recharging). With no active power sources, I suppose Scout armour would be even harder to detect. This last paragraph is just my speculation rather than anything GW has out in print. Blindhamster
So, in wrath and glory, it has worse armour than tacticus. but it has +1 movement, +2 stealth and is “only” powered 3 (+3 strength) where tacticus has powered 4. tacticus has the same armour as Aquila but Aquila only has powered 3. So yeah it’s faster and quieter, at the cost of strength and toughness vs tacticus.
