Missed opportunity to add a sarcophagus/anything to remove the model's well-earned 'baby carrier' moniker.

Right?!

Holy HELL is GW ever missing lately.

It's actually worse, there's now explosives strapped to the exposed pilot

I personally don't mind the look. (I also like Centurions :P), but yeah, even I would have expected an armoured compartment version if they were going to an upgrade sprue. O.o

Centurions actually look good in person at least, and require very little converting to make look better than they are. Dreadknights are straight up just bad.

Putting that book up there in the 'head' spot honestly makes it worse.

GK players, please continue to chop out the center of the model and put a venerable dread torso in there.

I hated Centurions when they first came out, but over the years I've grown to really like them and think they're actually pretty good now. My opinions of the Power Armour Papoose has never wavered from the negative though.

I must be one of the five people who actually like the Dreadknight as a concept and model. This is exactly what I hoped for when the rumour of a Dreadknight Grand Master Upgrade sprue started circulating: plenty of bling to mark it out and some cool new weapons. I've already got two converted Grand Masters, one of which is currently half assembled, so will certainly be picking up the new one and using the spare on the current wip.

Laughably bad reveal for the Grey Knights. Seeing the Space Wolves show up with a pretty decent refresh right after this felt like getting salt in your wound.

Adding an upscaled pilot to "mondernize" an old vehicle kit. hmmm…

Thank goodness GW didn't make "primaris rhino" in this way.

Are you sure? It looks like the same size pilot. His feet are in the same place as the old model.

Eh. Pretty lame for the grey knights.

Upgrade sprue could have had soooooo many opportunities main one being... covering the baby carrier. Or having different pilot legs for more dynamic posing.. And why give it non grey knight weapons? It would be far cooler to have a giant helberd, falchions would be cool too.

Given current rumours point to 11th being a full on GK refresh, that could be why this release is such a meagre offering as they're holding back when everything is going to be resized.

Also, I'm completely fine with the concept of the Dreadknight in theory, it's the execution that falls down for me. I reckon if this was designed after the SoB paragon warsuits, it would have more design cues from them. If that's better or worse, that's up to you.

Ancient meme still serves.

Anyway, I'm glad the Grey knight range still stands, it's hard to believe they are as old as they are but I love the terminator and PAGK kits.

No attempt to scale up the models at all?

I'm disappointed that this release implies they won't be redoing the GK range any time soon. I guess it's a minor enough model release that it doesn't definitively rule anything out, but I'd been hoping for a refresh.

On the plus side, it's great to see the Grey Knights going for a more environmentally-sustainable approach by adopting re-usable nappies for their Dreadknight pilots. GW models are so detailed nowadays that you can make out the washing instructions.

with an upgrade sprue ? how ?

Just to clarify: will there be two variants of this dread knight or only the grand master variant ?

It will possibly work like knights (the other kind), regular kit coexisting next to kit+upgrade sprue for a while. though maybe they go for just the complete package from the start.

or do you mean rules wise ?

Well, that's mildly depressing. Who actually asked for this? Though on the plus side, the small but otherwise excellent Grey Knight kits get to live another day.

Bit of a mixed bag on the GK infantry kits. I think their design ethos holds up well (although admittedly some of the powered armor guys have squidgy proportions). However, they're really showing their age now in terms of mold lines and slips.
