Whilst the chances of it actually happening are pretty slim as the Dreadknight (ugh) exists already, I feel like the Grey Knights would actually be justified with a Redemptor-sized Dreadnought variant; given their whole thing is killing daemons, a Dreadnought intended to battle Greater Daemons would be pretty cool. Basically the old FW Dread but scaled up to Redemptor class would be nice.

Keep it the same size. I want a plastic Castraferrum with more knee pose-ability. Or a Contemptor for Grey Knights with weapons unique to the Chapter.

Now that's more like it!

I'm liking Banishers a lot. Getting Lethal or Sustained on all your melee and Psycannons is pretty darn cool for the non-cost of a LD test.

Maybe I misread the rule, but where do they refer to Psycannons? I thought it was melee only.

It said Psychic weapons, are the heavy weapons not considered Psychic anymore?

i do like that flail. and a big ornamental topper goes a long way of making the silhouette seem more interesting though going with a giant book isn't the direction i would have gone in.  they had the right idea adding the loin banner too... but they should have used it to obscure the pilots legs. I guess there's only so much you can do with an upgrade sprue.

Like, I remain convinced the current exo-skeleton concept is fixable with some adjustments but so far I haven't seen any modelers or converters just never landed there.

That's fair, modern Castraferrum kits would be awesome full stop (and a GK Contemptor would be amazing).

The detachment rule is limited to melee weapons only…

Oh, that's stupid lame, and it seems super odd since literally every Enhancement has to do with range attacks. I'm significantly less interested but I suppose I can still look at it.

I am surprised about the characters getting removed. maybe they come back with a refresh at some point but then why bother removing them at all? wow.

In many cases GW doesn’t want to publish rules of models they discontinue, hence out of production means out of publication.

I just got out of the store, where I saw a DreadKnight cosplaying as a young mother.

Seriously, it's a difficult design nut to crack. The Sisters warsuits are close, Shadowsun is rocking Waldo arms like a Shirow Landmate, and she's close. They just don't have it yet.

I completely forgot about the warsuits. IMO the only one that works is Morvehn Vehl and that's because where her legs would orherwise be are obscured by robes.

Maybe something more heavy duty, technicool like super sized Brôkhyr Thunderkyn is the way to go. Humanoid hands and limbs is one of the awkard things.

Was it the Primaris techmarine in the previous book too?

no it was the firstborn. Which was finecast or pewter if you were lucky.  Same reason no image of Grey Knight Chaplain or Grandmaster.

Ok so Finecast and Pewter models are OOP gone from book but Brother Captain model shown is an Old Pewter/ Finecast model….which came out with Draigo and Stern.

I think it is implied that you can create a brother captain out of a spare terminator, hence they allow for a squad size of 4.

Why they choose to use a mini from the early 2000 though is beyond me.

This is also probably just one of those mechanic/thematic/aesthetic dissonance things, but the Mace and Flail on the GMNDK being lower strength than a baseline Nemesis Force Weapon feels strange.

Just looking at the size of those weapons compared to the size of its pilot makes my brain rebel at that.

That's literally the Dreadknights job though

Always room for improvement.
Replacing the Dreadknight with a Dreadnought would be a good move imo.

A mace and a flail seems so weird really, just as weird as draigo being the only one with a shield (although now removed) unless when they get their proper refresh, terminators will have those options?

GK Contemptor would be amazing

I’ve wanted GW to do a Grey Knight version of the Achillus-Contemptor and Galatus-Contemptor.
