Lord Marshal
Big stomp, little stomp. Quote The upcoming plastic Cerastus Knights Atrapos kit builds four individual Knights for use in Legions Imperialis, while the Acastus Knights Asterius box contains two giant walkers. Rules for both detachments can be found in the Legions Imperialis Core Rulebook, while expanded rules for fielding entire armies of Knights and more Mechanicum-aligned machines are included in The Rise of the Dark Mechanicum. They will be up for pre-order soon. Robbienw
Superb! They’ve restored the leg armour on the Atrapos, was missing on the resin. Matcap86
Awesome! Not often you see an improvement in model fidelity when moving from resin to plastic, so these are some great designs. The Atropos is my favorite Cerastus design so will 100% pick a set, if not multiples up. Edit: Also nice touch they added in the old variant Cerastus heads that you could previously get for the big designs to these. Mandragola
Yeah that is nice. I have the one on the right on my Castigator. I never got the Styrix or Magaera in resin so it's nice those are coming. I do have a couple of Atrapos and an Asterius, but a few more wouldn't be awful. Lots of work though. Matcap86
Just noticed they added new shoulder designs as well! Also not familiar with the art in the article: Makes me immediately wonder if these are plastic variants of the 32mm scale ones. I loved those heads for my Chaos Knights. Between these and the Mageara / Styrix, I’m super psyched. Hopefully this pulls people into Titanicus (and then they realize Knights are an uphill battle there too lol). Bring on the Armigers! Robbienw
Plastic armigers are locked in, it’s just a matter of time. Prepare for armiger hordes, it will be like the peewee hordes in total annihilation for anyone old enough to remember that. I would certainly hope so considering the emphasis GW has put on them in LI. It irked me to see that and then look at the price of 3 resin Armigers. Insanity. Could these be the plastic armigers in the new Warhammer World display showcased on Warcom today? I haven't really seen the resin ones up close to be able to tell. DuskRaider
Kinda hard to tell if those are plastic now that they’re painted. You probably wouldn’t be able to tell if the new Asterius was resin or plastic if it were painted up without holding it in your hand to feel the weight, it’s basically the same model. The Atrapos are different, however, and you’d be able to tell visually. At this point, I can’t help but feel that Armigers (and Moirax) are an inevitability. They’ve already moved the more obscure Mechanicum Knights over to plastic and in LI, Armigers are much more essential to a Household force, both allied and otherwise. I’d expect an announcement soon, considering how quickly they announced the Asterius and Atrapos after the Mageara and Styrix. The Yak
I don't own the Resin Armigers so not sure if they have alternate shoulder armour. But if you zoom in one seems to have a raised cog on one. It could be paintjob but the new plastic Atropos has a new shoulder so it could be? EDIT: Ignore me just noticed that was a moirax!!! Schrödingers Primarch
Posing wise all the Armigers & Moirax seem to have the same static resin one. I wouldn't get your hopes up for plastic versions soon, they were one of the last FW titanicus releases in December 2021. GW will get all they can from the current mold before plastification. If we see them this year, I would be surprised. DuskRaider
Yeah, I don’t think we’ll be waiting long for Armigers. It’s obvious they want to move the full Knight range to plastic. BolterZorro
Let's do some (positive) speculation: seeing that GW didn't launch the new LI wave yesterday, but also seeing the emphasis on LI for 3 weeks straight with 5 new incoming boxes, my 2 cts go on a last box reveal before launch this week, a moirax box (double kit armiger?). Plausible. And Awaited for sure. Matcap86
Huh, tangentially related, some of the Warlord resin weapon sets are no longer available online. Precursor to a new Warlord Weapons set? Adeptus Titanicus Warlord Battle Titan Macro Gatling Blaster and Quake cannon are now labled as sold out online. Though that could be one of the mislabels that happens sometimes. I don’t think we’ll see the resin weapons in plastic anytime soon, but I’d be stoked if we did. If they did do it, I hope we see new panels and / or heads for the Warlord / Reaver as well. Something to help make them even more unique from one another. Mandragola
More plastic warlord guns would be great. It was always a mistake that they put two of the same arm weapon on the sprues so maybe they’ll get it right in future. No idea about plastic Armigers, though they’d be great to have. They’re the best knight unit in LI at the moment and useful in AT too. Matrindur
More plastic Warlord weapons wouldn't surprise me they simply need to release a third Warlord version or combine the existing ones and create a new second one. After all they already did it with the Warhounds not long ago. Warbringer is also easy to do since there still is the other main weapon in resin. The only one a bit left out is the reaver since it only has resin carapace weapons left so a third version would need completely new arm weapons first. But if they wanted to all of them could get another box with new weapon loadouts in plastic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385582-legions-imperialis-plastic-knight-atrapos-acastus-knight-asterius/#findComment-6102954 Share on other sites
