RazorDaemon
My take on Storm Wardens with as much official material as I could find. Couldn't find any info on Squad, Company, or Rank marking other than Tempest Blades (I assume their regular Veterans like Black Templar Sword Brethren). I incorporated purple into the tartan since there is an official picture of a purple/white cape, and it looks good color wise. Any comments, critiques, or corrections are welcome. jaxom
I’ve all the books at home. I’ll check if there’s anything in them when I get home. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385609-storm-wardens/#findComment-6103045 Share on other sites
jaxom Posted yesterday at 01:30 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:30 AM H'okay, so good news and bad news. Bad news: there's nothing super concrete. Good news: there's a lot of info to extrapolate from. The Storm Wardens are an extremely insular and secretive chapter; to the point hey destroy any ships entering their home system. Their chapter master is rumored to have memorized the Tactica Imperialis including the Codex Astartes and the chapter heeds it closely. The Captain image shows blue trim on the pauldrons (9th company) and the Tempest Blade shows argent pauldron trim and helmet (1st company). I think you are pretty safe sticking with Codex Astartes markings. I think the Tempest Blade was left-right flipped for layout purposes; it's chapter icons are all backwards. The Tempest Blade has patterns on the pauldron and belt more like Pict symbols. Woad-painted Scouts and claymores are the only mention of the Sacris' culture impacting the aesthetics of the chapter. So while tartan is definitely in the realm of possibility, I think using Pict-inspired aesthetics might be a better fit (though the claymores are very stereotypical "highland warrior"). The exception seems to be Tech-marines and vehicles. It looks like they reverse the blue and white-grey colors. Tempest Blades only use two-handed weapons, so Inner Circle Companions may be a better fit (rules-wise) than Bladeguard.
