Went looking on the WarCom to see if I missed anything important (I didn't) I came across this video. My question is, what model is that silhouette? Is that one of the Space Wolves? And the fact that it's labelled Astartes Reinforcements (actual video is adepticon reveals)

Another update from Valrak, here’s a brief summary from what I took away.

- Space Marines Codex 2.0 is definitely coming, Valrak thinks it will be the last codex of 10th and then lead into an end-of-edition narrative book series.

- The pictures on the roadmap are specifically for the new Marine characters, which are the first things we will start getting. He confirmed the expected characters: Vulcan for Salamanders, Lysander for Imperial Fists, a jet bike character for White Scars, a terminator character for Iron Hands, and Raven Guard is still unknown.

- Refreshed Assault Terminators are definitely coming and Valrak thinks they are coming with SM 2.0 (he may have outright said that they are coming with the 2.0 codex, I couldn’t quite tell if that was speculation or confirmation)

- Multipart outriders, a new Land Speeder, and refreshed Vanguard Veterans are also for sure coming. He’s not sure if we may see some or all of these in 10th, or if some might be coming in 11th. Personally, until he confirms otherwise, I expect Van Vets and the Speeder are probably coming in 11th. I could see multipart Outriders at either release.

- Here’s the big one: GW *is* working on updates to at least some of the tracked Marine vehicles, without any confirmed specifics. Valrak speculated about the Rhino and Land Raider. We shall see.

Finally, he thinks we will start seeing some of these things at the May preview. I can’t wait!!!

That can't be the case as the artworks are older; the salamander is a flamestorm aggressor, and the imperial fist is tor garadon

I do love me some grav, but if they manage to make the Land raiders hatch a tad more plausible for miniatures to actually exit I'll be all over that.

My guess is anything multipart gets released with 2.0 while anything with an initial push-fit assembly gets saved for 11th. And 2.0 being the last codex will also save Dark Eldar from that fate.

Or maybe it is a Shadowspear-esque release.

It is, nonetheless, what Frater Valrak said. The artwork isn’t of the characters that are coming, it’s of the chapters that they are for. Although his sources are generally spot on this close to upcoming releases, feel free to still take with whatever grain of salt is felt to be appropriate.

I haven't seen the video yet, so I took your summary as written; " The pictures on the roadmap are specifically for the new Marine characters," when it should read " The pictures on the roadmap correspond to the chapters receiving new or refreshed characters,"

I must admit I wasn’t expecting such a specific parsing of my phrasing, I thought that was what I had already implied. The pictures are specifically for the characters in the sense that they show when those characters, for the pictures chapters, will release.

I’m well aware. My experience on this sight has typically been better. Best we leave it and let the rest of the frater engage with the actual rumors as they see fit.

I was a bout to grumble something like "nothing on what Templars are getting? A character right?..." Then I stopped myself and remembered we will get our own codex.., so should obviously not be included here.

I guess this timeline isn't all bad....

Haven't seen the video but what was Valrak's specific wording on the tracked vehicles?

Was it very specific on the updates being for SM or it was something lore like "they are working on updating them"

I say this because I'm still very skeptical of GW redoing the tracked vehicles for loyalist SM, but I could see happening for CSM specially.

GW have been doing straight upgrades of some units this edition (Terminators, Drop Pods and Sternguard spring to mind). This suggests that they recognise some units are too iconic to ditch and replace with Primaris equivalents. This means I could see new versions of the Land Raider at least.

I am less sure about the Rhino as its derivatives have been largely superseded by the Impulsor and Gladiator variants. But I do like the idea of a Rhino that can hold 10 Primaris marines....

He was pretty clear that the tracked vehicles GW is updating are for loyalist Space Marines. The whole video was only about things coming for loyalists, so I very much doubt he was referring to Chaos Space Marines. That’s not to say that he said or implied CSM would not also get updated tracked vehicles, but he was focused on loyalist models.

That said, *which* vehicles are getting updates was purely speculation on his part at this point. He did not have any specifics to share as viable rumors.

Flashback to June 2017 when people insisted the entire firstborn line would be dropped and that i was an idiot for thinking otherwise.

Fast Forward to now when we have new 1 for 1 updates of things like Terminators, Scouts and Drop Pods, chapter specific units and characters being close updates of old versions and strong rumours of new MK7/armour variation coming to line kits plus updated Land Raiders and Rhinos :laugh::laugh::biggrin:

I'm of a mind that this is a direct result of the Primaris models released following the initial two waves being less popular than the reimagined versions of classic units that came later. Desolators and the buggy being two particular examples that spring to mind.

It reads to me as more of a course correction than this being their plan from the beginning. If that were the case, we'd have seen a Combat Patrol kitting out Intercessors with additional weapon options by now.

Missed the big one, New Terminator Ancient ;)

I'm very interested to see what "Tracked Vehicle Updates" might be.

If it's newer perhaps easier to build vehicle kits, awesome. My Marines Malevolent have a older and more careworn motor pool so if folks start having new and improved ones will help mine look older :)

If the hypothesized update includes a review of weapon loadouts, I'd love to be free to put my (super sweet looking) Twin Assault Cannon turrets on my Razorbacks :)
