Kahl and Deep Strike help.

Teleport Crest: While this model is leading a unit, models in that unit have the Deep Strike ability.

I'm wanting to put Kahl with some Beserks in a Sagitaur and deep strike the whole unite.  Folks at both my LGS' seem to think it is legal. Is it?

A kahl can only lead hearthkyn warriors and einhyr hearthguard, so you cannot have him lead berserks. You can put him in a sagg with the berserks, due to carry capacity, but he won't be leading them and thus won't give deepstrike.

A Kahl can only lead a unit of Einhyr Hearthguard or Hearthkyn Warriors this edition, so no, this does not work.

 

Being in the same transport, or in the vicinity of another unit, does not confer the ability. Only while attached. Also Deep strike is not conferred to a transport if the unit inside has it (unlike scout which I believe is transferred to a transport if all embarked models have it).

Thought I could help out by commenting on this specifically, as I've recently reading up on the scouts rule - Scout transfers to dedicated transports only, and only if every model in the transport has Scout (page 39 of the Core Rules).
