Here are pictures of my 1,000 point Ork army, starting with a Warboss and his bodyguard, a 10-model unit of Nobz.  The Warboss is from the 40K 5th edition starter set Assault on Black Reach, as are many of the miniatures in the army.

 

 

In most games I deploy this unit embarked on a Trukk.

 

 

My Orks are painted as Goffs, because as everyone knows, Goffs is da best (also it is way easier to paint Orks when most of the details are black).

 

 

I have two units of Boyz, each with 20 models.

 

 

 

The Nobz are not from Assault on Black Reach, they're from the Nobz box.  I love the AoBR boyz but there's not a lot of variety in the models (just 3 body variants with different left-hand sluggas and right-hand choppas) so I added in some multi-part Boyz.

 

 

The other character unit in my army is a Weirdboy attached to one of the Boyz units.  I hate the GW model so I just kit-bashed my own from a WFB Savage Orc along with some 40K and WFB bits.

 

 

I actually painted up two Weirdboyz but I usually only run one, "Da Jump" is a real all-or-nothing ability, if the unit jumps and then gets its charge off it can be game-changing, but if it doesn't, well...

 

 

More Assault on Black Reach models, a unit of 3 Deffkoptas.

 

 

I love these models, the newer plastic models are very nice as well, I just wish I could buy more of the AoBR models.

 

 

The final unit in the army are Kommandos kit-bashed from AoBR Boyz, bits from the new plastic Kommandos and from other Ork kits.

In the picture below the model on the left is a good example of an AoBR Boy converted to a Kommando.  I added some ammo pouches to the model's belt which gives it a modern military look that I quite like.  The Kommando with burna on the right is not in the picture above as this was a recent addition that I painted as an option.

 

 

That's all for now.  When it comes to my Orks I tend to just paint what I like, competitiveness be damned (I don't track win-rate, but I'm pretty sure it's not good).  It is safe to say there's more to come but not sure yet what that will be.  Thanks for looking.
