Brother Tyler
The original article on DIY creation that I wrote 25+ years ago (definitely not the first on the Internet, but possibly the first here at the B&C) was 12 pages, with a 2-page follow-up. Over the years, my theories about DIY creation have evolved, especially as I've considered the views and advice of other members (and have often worked to counter some of the more tyrannical or misguided advice that has been presented over the years) and as the official lore has grown and changed. I've been revising and updating my advice and have reached the point where I'm ready to start presenting articles on varying elements of the DIY creation process. These will first be presented as a series of blog posts covering individual subjects, which you can see in the Principia Libertas category of my Liber Bellum forum. I'm likely to incorporate feedback and recommendations (if any are provided) in the finished versions, which will appear as individual articles in the Articles feature, and likely as a consolidated file that you will be able to get from the Downloads feature. I'm generally focusing on using the Adeptus Astartes as my example, though the principles will apply to the other factions and I may address some of the other factions in some of the articles. It's important to keep in mind that this is just planned to be a guide on DIY creation. It is not envisioned to replace or supplant any existing (or future) guides, not even my original guide. It simply augments other guides, adding to the body of advice that prospective DIY creators might consult. Overall, I want DIY creators to understand that there is considerable freedom in DIY creation, hence the Libertas portion of the blog category title. At present you'll only find the introduction, though I'm working on the first drafts of the entries about theme and format. Much of the content I have planned has appeared previously, including some subject matter that is linked in the DIY Resources index as well as my input in a variety of discussions that have taken place here over the years. While I will use individual examples in the various articles, I'm focusing on principles, hence the Principia portion of the blog category title. I welcome any feedback you may provide in comment replies to the individual blog entries. In addition, if there are any questions or topics that you would like me to address, feel free to post those here in this discussion.
