I've been busy painting up vehicles for the past couple of weeks and thought I'd show them off. They're painted to 'battle ready' standard and, once I've achieved my painting goal, I will go back over them and pick out the finer details.

Now, for confession time, my main army is Genestealer Cults, so please have your commissars look away for a minute! However, I do have enough IG to field a decently-sized army, though I don't get to play that often. Constructive criticism always welcome.

Fantastic work @GSCUprising!

Though I can’t condone your Xenos beliefs I can appreciate a solid paint scheme!

Cheers. My company commander has offered to put me in touch with my local commissar for counselling, but I am not sure that will go so well.

And thank you. While I don't want my models to look like little carbon copies of each other, I do enjoy uniformity of colour and style.

And they shouldn't be. Paint fades over time and as your vehicles are replaced they would be fresh rather than faded so would be slightly different in tone and colour.

Also if camouflage paint is done by hand no two vehicles would be the same, similar but not identical.

Yours are great.

Great work, it must be said. Really gritty and heavy looking. I think the sandy colour was a great choice because the dirt shows up really well on it and has the maximum effect.

I like the little details like the sandbags on the macharius, it really adds personality.

The only possible note I have is a bit of weathering powder or sponge chipping here and there might add even more convincing heft to them, but it really is about as far away from necessary as you can get. As they sit they're just great already.

Hi and thanks for the comments. I already use a weathering powder, specifically Kromlech's Dark Dirt. My method is normally:

1. Undercoat with Army Painter's Desert Sand spray.

2. Wash all over with a diluted Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

3. Highlight with Citadel Zamesi Desert.

4. Apply all transfers.

5. Apply weathering powder all over.

6. Sponge with AK's Wet Mud Splatter Effects.

.

.

.

7. Realise I missed a bit then do the whole thing over again on a tiny area.

8. Realise I missed another bit. Walk away and have a coffee.

I've been looking into the chipping thing. I will tinker with this properly shortly and post the results. Suggestions most welcome!

Finished up a Scout Sentinel and my autocannon heavy weapons squad. The one on the left looks a little different, as I have painted them to go with a squad [shakes fist], so have to get them a couple of buddies to be able to field them again and I have since changed my painting formula.

Sentinel has no weapon as am yet to paint these up.

Just a quick note, the lights in this display cabinet do tend to wash out colours if I am taking a pic with my phone. I will endeavour to take more pics with the DSLR in the future as it shows the colours and the effects of weathering powders a lot better.

I like the paint jobs but I am sending the Inquisition round to have a little chat with you.

My company commander has already recommended I visit my Commissar for 'counselling,' but I think I may be feeling a little ill that day <cough, cough>

They look awesome, but what's with the Tanith badge on the Wyvern?

I had no idea it was a specific company's mark. I just thought it looked good!

So small, yet so angry. So very ANGRY. Like a little bottle of hate just waiting to be uncorked.

While these are nowhere near as lethal as they used to be, it is fun to watch your opponents scramble when you wheel one of these out of a Chimera, haha.

Small but mighty indeed!

Great work as usual @GSCUprising!

As for Guard or Genestealer Cults, how about both!?

I think it has taken time but has slowly become that, haha. But, I am not disappointed. Beneath an iron sky, my lads and lassies will break their chains! Take a look at my blog story for more.

I do, sincerely, love the idea of the everyman rising against his oppressors, be they alien or not.

For now, my Imperial Guard will toe the line. For now...

Ok this is gonna be my favorite model, of yours. I can’t wait to read about it in use in your blog.

Egads! I'd not even given it a thought! I'll see what I can come with.

Let's see...where can can I insert an angry little tank with a Napolean complex?
