Tred1998
Blood angle: Tred Story Overview: The Tale of Tred, Blood Angel Outcast Prologue: The Mission The war-torn planet of Atarxis Prime, a backwater world in the Imperium, serves as a battlefield for multiple factions. Among them are the Astra Militarum, desperately holding the line against the heretical Chaos forces of the Black Legion, and the elusive Eldar, whose motives remain inscrutable. Into this maelstrom of violence, the Blood Angels Chapter dispatches a single Astartes, Brother Tred, on a reconnaissance mission. The mission appears routine: gather intelligence, disrupt enemy operations, and locate weak points in the Chaos foothold. Tred is a warrior of unmatched skill, his crimson armor reflecting the glory of Sanguinius. However, as Tred's mission progresses, his journey veers into realms of darkness and revelation that no Blood Angel has ever faced before. Act 1: The Descent Tred’s mission begins in the ash-drenched wastelands of Atarxis Prime, a barren expanse marred by ancient bombardments and the ceaseless march of war. Once a thriving manufactorum world, Atarxis Prime now holds strategic importance due to its remaining supply depots and proximity to a vital warp corridor frequently contested by Imperial and Chaos forces. With chainsword and bolter in hand, he dispatches Chaos-tainted cultists and heretical guardsmen. During a skirmish near an abandoned manufactorum, he unknowingly aids an Eldar strike force by neutralizing a Chaos patrol blocking their path. The patrol’s ambush had pinned down the Eldar warriors, forcing them into a precarious position. Tred’s sudden assault broke the stalemate, allowing the Eldar to slip away unharmed. Though the Eldar made no direct contact with Tred, their Farseer took note of his actions, silently acknowledging the unexpected debt owed to the crimson-clad warrior. The Eldar, enigmatic as always, vanish into the shadows without a word. Deeper into Chaos-controlled territory, Tred encounters a squad of Black Legion Marines. The brutal melee that follows pushes him to his limits. Chainswords clash, bolters roar, and Tred’s armor is scarred by the relentless assault. As the injuries mount and rage fills his soul, the genetic flaw of the Blood Angels overwhelms him. Consumed by the Black Rage, Tred’s mind fractures, and he believes himself to be Sanguinius in the final moments of the Siege of Terra. Just as the Black Rage fully takes hold, a Chaos Sorcerer’s warpfire spell strikes Tred, knocking him unconscious. The sorcerer, a servant of the Black Legion, orders Tred’s battered form taken to their fortress for dark purposes. Act 2: The Chaos Experiment Within the foul halls of the Chaos stronghold, the sorcerer begins a ritual of corruption. Tred’s body is implanted with a Warp Catalyst — a heretical artifact of Chaos designed to channel warp energy. The sorcerer’s plan is insidious: to corrupt Tred and use him as a living weapon to infect the Blood Angels with warp energy, accelerating their descent into the Black Rage. As the ritual nears completion, an Eldar strike force assaults the Chaos stronghold. These Craftworld warriors, having divined the sorcerer’s plan, unleash their wrath upon the Black Legion. In the aftermath of the battle, the Eldar discover Tred, barely alive and teetering between unconsciousness and the Black Rage. The Eldar’s Farseer, seeing the debt owed to Tred for his earlier unwitting assistance, chooses to intervene. Using their psychic powers, the Eldar reverse the Warp Catalyst’s effects. Instead of projecting warp energy, the artifact is altered to absorb it, neutralizing its immediate threat. However, this alteration binds the artifact to Tred, making him both resistant to and dependent on warp energy. Act 3: The Return Tred awakens amidst the ruins of the Chaos fortress, surrounded by the corpses of Black Legion warriors. His mind is clear, yet the Black Rage lingers at the edges of his consciousness, threatening to consume him in moments of fury. To his astonishment, he realizes he has survived what no Blood Angel has before: the Black Rage’s grip has been broken, albeit imperfectly. Returning to the Blood Angels’ forward base, Tred is healed in a solemn ceremony of purification, his wounds treated with sacred unguents and his armor meticulously repaired under the prayers of the Chapter’s Techmarines. Yet, despite these rituals, he is met with suspicion and fear. Some brothers refuse to meet his gaze, whispering of corruption, while others openly question whether his survival is a blessing or a curse. This undercurrent of doubt gnaws at Tred, amplifying his own feelings of alienation. The Chapter’s leaders, including Commander Dante, convene in a somber council to discuss Tred’s unprecedented condition. Dante, with the weight of millennia behind his words, acknowledges the dire implications of Tred’s survival and the presence of the Warp Catalyst. Some propose execution, fearing corruption, while others see in Tred a rare strength that could serve the Chapter. The debate is tense and divided, reflecting the unease within the Blood Angels. Ultimately, no consensus is reached, and Tred’s fate hangs in uncertainty. to address Tred’s unprecedented condition. Dante speaks with the gravitas of millennia of leadership, acknowledging the dire implications of Tred’s survival and the presence of the Warp Catalyst. Some leaders argue vehemently for his immediate execution, fearing the taint of Chaos. Others, noting the resilience Tred demonstrated in resisting the Black Rage, see the potential for salvation or a unique asset to their Chapter. The council’s debate is tense, revealing the deep divisions among even the most stalwart warriors of the Blood Angels. They discover the altered Warp Catalyst within his body and deliberate his fate. Some argue for his execution, fearing the taint of Chaos. Others see potential in his unique resilience. Tred, sensing the growing mistrust and feeling alienated from his brothers, wrestles with the crushing weight of isolation. During a tense confrontation with a fellow Blood Angel, who accuses him of bringing corruption into their midst, Tred realizes that his presence endangers not only his brothers but the sanctity of their Chapter. The pain of their distrust and his own sense of unworthiness drives him to a fateful decision: he must leave the Chapter to protect its legacy and find his own path to redemption. He abandons the Chapter, leaving behind his heritage and the honor of the Blood Angels. Though his faith in the Emperor remains unshaken, he becomes a wanderer, seeking redemption and purpose in the Imperium’s shadows. Act 4: The Wanderer Now a lone warrior, Tred roams the galaxy’s fringes. He fights in the name of the Emperor, slaying xenos, heretics, and daemons. The altered Warp Catalyst grants him a unique ability to absorb and nullify warp energy, making him a bane to Chaos forces. Yet, the Black Rage lingers, an ever-present reminder of his cursed bloodline. Tred’s exploits inspire hope among the downtrodden and oppressed. On a desolate hive world overrun by Chaos cultists, Tred intervenes to save a small enclave of Imperial civilians. His brutal efficiency in dismantling the cult’s leadership not only liberates the enclave but reignites their faith in the Emperor’s light. For these survivors, Tred becomes a living legend, their whispered prayers now including thanks for the crimson warrior who delivered them from despair. To the Imperium’s citizens, he becomes a symbol of the Emperor’s light, a crimson angel of vengeance. To the enemies of mankind, he is a relentless harbinger of destruction. And to himself, he remains a broken soul, seeking absolution for sins both real and imagined. N1SB Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:13 PM I especially like the character's name, like the idiom where the angels fear to tread. And even the other Blood Angels fear...Tred.
