We all known that printed points cost in paper codex isn't the final version, but most cost in this page seems not ridiculous.

Obviously some stuff will be overcosted (absolutely nobody is going to pay for the Icon Bearer) but most of it seems reasonable. The LoV + Blightlords is gonna be a fun combo for sure.

I am really, really tempted by the Death Guard stuff.

My current collection is mainly Dark Imperium and Conquest magazine stuff. Despite being mainly ETB type stuff they are some of my favorite models and have been a lot of fun to paint too (the lucky few that have been built)

I missed the plagueburst crawler and terminator issues though so either the combat patrol or the battleforce would be nice additions to my existing collection.

Back in the 90s Nurgle was probably my least favorite of the big four but they are probably my strong favorite for Chaos now by a good way

Interesting, you can finally take 3 blightlord terminators as came in the easy build set.

They even make the Plague Spewer carrier in such a build leave their Bubotic Blade at home.

I will say - restricting Nurglings to one detachment feels wrong. Even in Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned, with its weird army building rules, Champions of all three Chaos Armies of Nurgle, Daemon Legions of Nurgle, and Chaos Renegades of Nurgle could take Nurglings.

They made daemon princes amazing as well

T12 lone op within 3 of DG infantry giving cover within 6 and can -1 from cost of stats each turn

Looking through all leaks I can't get over the fact GW have actually made DG fun and great

Hard to find anything that is just downright bad everything seems pretty damn good

The amount of combos is great

Poxwalker detachment looks crazy especially the stat that lets you allocate all damage to nearby poxwalkers

Will be great for keeping vehicles alive

They've also massively buff the CSM units as well like helbrutes defilers etc so they have lethals on alot of their weapons with actually decent rules

After the start of this edition with DG getting absolutely shafted this I actually am happy and looking forward to playing DG

Looks like lots of fun and flavourful detachments. I'm planning to grab the Battleforce box, and then I'm sure I'll grab the new Combat Patrol down the line. Kind of bummed that I would have to go a specific detachment to soup in the Nurgle Daemons I already have, but that Terminator Detachment is calling my name. With Thousand Sons on the horizon, I'm going to have a lot of models to paint for this year's Call to Arms lol

Same with regular Marines, almost no one buys Ancients. But overall I agree the points costs look promising.

New DG Icon bearer rules kinda blur the lines between an Ancient and a Chaplain. I still don't think he's gonna see a bunch of play but if he got cheap enough maybe. There's a lot of battleshock chicanery in the game right now.

Not for even 45 points though. At least if he had a melee weapon he might be "fun". As is, I'm not gonna pay even 40 for a Bolter and once per game Battleshock safety.

The ol' "shoot on death" in 8th was a nice incentive.

Combining that and OC increase would see folks probably take an icon bearer.

They are in the Plague Legions (or whatever they are calling it) detachment, but yeah sucks you can't bring them in the other detachments.

Yeah I know. Generally you only wanted a few. So they worked better as allies over a detachment. But it’s a minor issue considering everything else.

I mean, the key part of Nurglings was the Infiltrate, which is now covered by Poxwalkers.

The whole "one detatchment for demon allies only" thing is so stupid.  Just let any detatchment work like it used to with a small number for anyone who wants to run allies (not me no thanks, I'm happy Poxwalkers got a glow-up), or just make them part of the faction fully.  This half situation thing is so weird and dumb.

Partially. But they were a good little tar pit as well. If you are taking poxwalkers they sort of fill that now but I miss the models of nurglings as well and it opened up other deamon allies for cheap

There's also the consideration that Poxwalkers have Infantry vs Swarm, which helps them move places.

Nurglings are cheaper expendable wounds(3.33pts per wound, 2.86pts if 6+ isv considered) than poxwalkers(6pts per wound, 4pts if fnp). To force opponent waste damage output on mass road-blocking Nurglings was proved(situational) profitable way. I don't know whether poxwalkers are also profitable in this way, since they are more expensive per wound, and have small footprints.

Full review.

According to this article and AoW streaming, some DG units have ridiculously low cost. 140pts for 3 deathshrouds?

Nerf would come soon.
