kabaakaba
I have few resie minis and use cianacrilate glue last time, and it's works bad. it's don't hold and easily breaks apart. also it's dry way to long. what glue do you use for resine kits? Solution Grotsmasha Posted April 18 Solution Share Posted April 18 I use dollar store super glue that comes in a bottle with a brush applicator. Super Glue works best on a rough surface, so a rough sand, or simply scoring both sides with your hobby knife prior to gluing will aid in a stronger bond. If you really, REALLY dont want bits to come off, you can drill and insert a pin to further hold the pieces together. Brass rod, and paper clips are common choices for this. Oxydo
If you haven't, wash the resin in soap and water before gluing and painting. Unwashed resin can prevent cyanoacrylate glue from hardening properly. phandaal
Liquid Loctite. That is cyanoacrylate, but the liquid part is the key. Glue jel is horrible, liquid glue locks the parts down in a few seconds. kabaakaba 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385718-resine-glue/#findComment-6105708 Share on other sites
crimsondave
My experience using super glue got way better when I started using this stuff…. Spoiler Just don’t get super glue on your hand and accidentally spray this on it. It burns. I know. I really like the gel superglue by Gorilla Glue, its my go-to for assembling Forge World resin items. Gorilla Glue must hate me then, because that is exactly what I was thinking of talking about how bad the gel stuff is. Gorilla Glue gel is a huge pain whenever I use it... Takes forever to get a good hold. Liquid stuff on the other hand is like super fast super strong bond. When assembling Forge World models, I actually use both. The Gel glue in the centre of the bond, with regular super glue around the edges. phandaal, Firedrake Cordova and crimsondave 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385718-resine-glue/#findComment-6106219 Share on other sites
kabaakaba
Ohhkey... Me ordered another glue, loctite exactly, cause my CA glue looks like a some kind of counterfeit. Even for two slightly rough surfaces ideally adjusted one to another it broke with lil force applied. Gonna see what how it be with loctite Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385718-resine-glue/#findComment-6106858 Share on other sites
