Has anything that first appeared in a novel ever actually been a hint of upcoming stuff?

I think there have been, but I wouldn't say them being included in a novel was a hint of anything In the same way other characters being created by a novel only to later get a miniature wasn't a hint. It'll just be a case of at some later point wanting to make another model, and taking inspiration from the books.
