It's interesting the Omnissiah Himself is on the list.  The other Perpetuals tried to warn him against his plan, I suppose.  By the end of The End and the Death, you kinda see what they mean, but.  In fact, the Omnissiah already forgave Magnus once, so I guess this refers to his sins after the Heresy, too.

Is the emperor officially the omnissiah ? I thought it was debated/uncertain both in and out of the universe.

Also vect not only in that list, but also being the first they think of when making the list really doesnt help with not hyping up  ( i know i know its all a stretch )

Edit: never thought that image was vect though, just an archon, but i dont know the image origin either.

Lastly, Instagram does these things alot and its not always meaningful.. But i wasnt aware they do it on YouTube... is this leading up to a teaser video this week ? A bit too early for end of edition campaign hype ( or Drukhari for that matters ) but TS doesnt seem big enough to be hyped like that. Or am i reading too much into this ?

Edit2 :

Anyway, beyond wild speculation and conspiracy theories and just play the game as is.

Vect has quite a luciferian evil to him.. his evilness is measured by the evilness of those he leads and the acts he does to keep that evil "orderly" but he didnt create that evil, nor are there many stories about his participation.. honestly, from what is written eldrad has done worse. Even more so.. There is no forgivable act i can think of, there are no bad actions with good intentions, the intentions are bad to begin with,  a confusing inclusion really

the emperor being there is kind of memey/a ploy to discover heretics :p  he is the first hardcore spacemarine fanboy though.. its unforgivable ;)

magnus.. if you are so smart you should have known better.

cypher.. is probably the correct answer... But...

The toss up is between fabius bile and the silent king i guess ?

Vect would be insulted if he was forgiven for anything.

Magnus did nothing wrong so easy forgive.

Silent King made his bed, so you can hold that L.

Cypher...hm...I'd consider it but last time he escaped his captors he left the toilet seat up.

Emperor can't be forgiven...not what he did to Angron and a number of the other primarchs that could of been stopped by him just saying what the plan was

and no...Bill will get no forgiveness of any kind in this lifetime or the next, not within this canon nor fanon. May his dice roll 1s and his super glue only stick to his fingers!

Magnus of course. He’s just asking questions ya know, not doing nothin’ wrong.

Fair point I haven’t really read any of the novels so I only really know what the emperor’s been doing, some of these guys are just names to me.  For the emperor’s part, blinded by hubris is a mega understatement, the sheer stupidity of some of his “master plan” continues to amaze me, and is completely unforgivable. Like what did he actually expect was going to happen? His ways and plan are so mysterious and inscrutable it’s no surprise to me he ended up as God of Humanity.

4 of these would literally cease to exist before understanding the need to apologize (Magnus would at most give the half-hearted 'well since you all insist I should apologize, I will acknowledge that it is my fault in the sense that the situation forced my hand and I am not at all to blame' Hollywood response).

The Silent King arguably screwed up worse than the Emp and seems to have learned nothing, especially with how royally and trivially he messed up at the Gauntlet.

And we don't really know enough about what Cypher has done for a fact, how he did it and why... so I can't even begin to gauge him.

But since I can't trace any galaxy-wide calamity directly to him for sure... sure, Cypher gets it by process of elimination.

I'm trying not to read too much into it but maybe, maybe...

I wasn't so sure about that artwork either but since I had most of the codexes to hand I double checked. In the 5th edition codex the art is used to accompany text about the general history of the Dark Eldar but in later codexes it's paired with text on Vect's rise to power so it's safe to assume it's him even though there's no "Pictured: Vect defending himself from meanies" under the image. The most concrete proof that it is Vect though comes from White Dwarf 371 which came out along with the 5th edition re-vamp and has this little blurb about Vect.

What probably doesn't help is that there really isn't very much art of Vect, this might be the only art of him since 5th edition, so it's not like we have a really clear image of what he looks like. Pretty sad considering he's meant to be the big man of the faction.

If it's related to some sort of campaign then I vote Cypher because him leading the Lion into some obscure quest for a mysterious objective and perhaps related to the Fallen sounds like a fun setting.

Hmm without the Emperor there i could see it as a dramatis personae for the campaign series, and one will be "forgiven" ( obviously cypher, then going into DA codex next year )

There is enough indication, and a currently open story development for each to play a narrative role..

I was also trying to figure if there was one single group or character that would have reason to forgive ( or likely not ) each of them but i cant think of any.

Acknowledging a need for forgiveness is a supreme act of humility, an attribute which is not exactly common among that line-up. Perhaps you might choose who is forgiven based on who needs a hearty laugh the most, or who is least likely to order your execution for such outrageous impudence/blasphemy.

I'm a TS enjoyer and even I'm looking at the idea of "forgiving" the Emperor with :zeal:

Has that image of Vect ever been seen in colour before?

I remember it in old material but only in black and white.

Yeah it originally appeared in black and white but it's appeared in colour since the 7th edition codex at least.

Why is this on the News/Rumours? GW does these engagement-drawing posts all the time.

The News is GW remembered who Vect even is .  That is more obscure than even Zoats.

(I say that in jest, the butt of the joke is me, because I MYSELF forgot that Vect existed and is still alive!?)

The Rumour would be, why even remind people who Vect is, if they weren't planning something with him.  Could he be like a Silent King release, a figure always mentioned in the background but we never expected a miniature for, until it came out?

I think this might be looking too far into it, really. It's just a meme / funny thing to get people posting comments on their youtube. They just needed a variety of characters who can easily be called "despicable" .

They do these sorts of "Here's some random things, choose!" somewhat often. They did one earlier in the year that was about random silly faces from miniatures. They did one a while ago about choosing a "mascot" out of various tiny creatures/miniatures. They didn't mean anything either in what they were themed on or what things they choose.
